Sounds like you took it in the shorts
I ordered two pairs of shorts last week, and I was having a hard time returning them. I finally reached them and they eventually reversed the charges and said you can keep them.
I’ve returned dozens of items back to Amazon via UPS. Never had a problem.
But if I ever do, I’ll also whine about it here on Free Republic.
Ive never had a problem with returns and get refunded right away.
I take the item just as is, no packaging at all, to Kohls customer service with just a return code on my phone, they scan it and do all the rest.
Easy as pie
Return stuff all the time and get refunds as soon as UPS scans the Q code.
Never had an issue returning anything to Amazon..
I have had some issues with sellers that are not directly from Amazon.
There are many sellers that it is much more difficult to get your money back quicker when the product has to be returned to a seller other than Amazon itself.
If the product goes back to the Amazon warehouse your refund is much quicker. It the product has to go from the warehouse back to the actual seller, it takes a while.
I am careful anymore to make sure, especially with clothing that is isn’t coming from a private seller.
This happens with other places like Walmart and eBay too.
Sorry to hear of your problem. I just returned two blouses and they credited my account quickly. I returned my bag with the blouses to the Kohl’s Amazon return. The girl peeked inside to make sure two were inside..and zipped the bag closed and thanked me. My account was credited within a couple hours by email.
I too spend a bunch on Amazon monthly and the few times I've had to return things they either are very competent and my returns are processed timely and correctly or they'll tell me to keep the product and send me the right product.
Hope it gets resolved.
I just returned something yesterday. Worked great.
Was the seller a 3rd party?
If the actual seller is Amazon or the product is handled by Amazon, I’ve gotten refunds as soon as the package is scanned in at the UPS store.
If it’s a 3rd party, they need to get the package back and check it. It’s no different than buying anywhere else then. You don’t always get free returns either.
So now I check who is handling the sale and what their policies are.
Hope it all works out how you. Sometimes it just takes some time. I’m thinking Amazon got us used to 1 day delivery and instant returns just to put everyone else out of business. Now their prices match Chewy’s and anywhere else online. It’s really not fair and could be a monopoly. Those used to be illegal.
Do a an online chat with them or request a call. I had something like this happen - refund was processed for one when two were in the box as I only was given one return label and one half the credited amount. They took care of it immediately.
In fact, sometimes I'll get two replacements for something and they won't even ask for the extra one back.
Nowadays you don't even have to box up your returns. Just take the merchandise to a local Kohls or any other retailer that participates in the Amazon returns program. I just have the return label scanned at the drop-off spot and drop my stuff off. Couldn't be easier.
I have returned a number of things to Amazon in the past, even dropping off a return once at a local Kohls store (it has an Amazon pick up and return desk in the store, staffed by Kohls employees). I have always got pretty prompt refunds.
But complaining doesn't solve problems. Intelligence does. What's your goal?
Get used to it. The days of free returns with these online retailers are going to come to an end in the not-too-distant future.
I don’t know what’s happening to you. I can only express my experience with Amazon.
Their customer service is the best. I’ve never had problems, in fact they’ve been excellent in backing up sales.
I have never, including recently, had problems returning items. Always worked well, even when I had to call and talk to someone in India. I did read that they just changed or are changing some return policies but have not encountered that yet.
I have found that the best way to return anything to Amazon is to elect to drop it off at a nearby Amazon Fresh store. Not only do they give you instant credit for the item along with a receipt, you also get a 10% discount coupon for groceries at Amazon Fresh.
