Sales of Bud Light fell yet again over the Fourth of July holiday period as the Anheuser-Busch brand lost more ground to rivals Modelo Especial, Coors Light and Miller Lite.
The latest figures show sales of Bud Light dropping 23.6% in the one-week period ending on July 8 compared to the same period last year, according to Nielsen IQ data provided by Bump Williams Consulting.
Meanwhile, Coors Light saw its sales numbers soar 30.2% while Miller Lite’s sales jumped 25.3% during the week ending July 8.
Sales of Modelo Especial — which is quickly closing in on Bud Light’s two-decade reign as the nation’s top-selling beer — were up 20.7% during that same period.
One bright spot for Bud Light is that its most recent drop in sales was a major improvement over previous weeks, which saw declines of 28.5% and 27.9%, respectively.
However, the Bud Light boycott has continued to infect sister brands within the Anheuser-Busch portfolio, according to the figures, which were reported by the Daily Caller.
Budweiser saw a 6.6% drop in sales in the week ending July 8, the numbers show.
Bud Light and Anheuser-Busch have struggled to win back consumer confidence after an ill-fated advertising partnership with transgender influencer Dylan Mulvaney sparked a backlash.
Mulvaney began promoting the beer to her millions of social media followers in early April — prompting accusations that the brand was supporting a trans agenda.

This is Marketing disaster for AB. Rule#1. Don’t insult your customers with excessive products available.. Beer drinkers don’t need much of a reason to switch.
Bud what?....
Is that GLOBAL sales percent? It can’t be just the USA.
Everywhere I go the Bud products are stacked and stagnant. One store had a 24 can case for $3 after rebate! Nobody had touched the stacked display!
Does this count as News? I don’t want to push it over if it doesn’t. Thanks.
I feel bad for the Clydesdales.
For all you do, this Bud is NOT for you.
Bud Light - The Drama Queen of Beers
I have not read or seen any reports that beer sales are down at baseball games or similar venues. That could just mean that nobody is talking about it.....
Beer drinkers have switched from Budweiser to Modelo & Corona, which are all owned by Anheuser Busch.
“Mulvaney began promoting the beer to her millions of social media followers in early April”
That mentally ill sex pervert is not a “HER” says the NYP. This is the real problem in our sick society, that beer ad and the result is just a symptom.
In America, they don't own Modelo.
I would say the 75% have more important things to worry about than boycotting a beer that they like. Most people just don’t care about this foolishness.
Bud Lite is on life support and it is time for AB to pull the plug. Bud Lite was a cheap watery beer that was pushed to prominence by slick and clever advertising. The bulk of American beer drinkers accustomed to drinking this watery style of beer turned to Bud Lite because it was relatively cheap and still retained the AB moniker. It is interesting that Mexican import Modelo is now virtually the number one beer in America as it is in my opinion a better tasting and better made beer than Bud Lite. AB should be developing a new better tasting beer rather than trying to revive Bud Lite.
If the park has a single-beer contract....you will arrive to find one single product as a beer option. Wouldn’t shock me if half the ball parks in the US had this type of contract.
Good to know.
I heard the Tampa Bay Rays are offering 2 for 1 on Bud Light on their next home stand.
