A 32-year-old Oregon man has been hailed as a “protector” after he was fatally stabbed outside a bar when he stood up for an LGBTQ+ friend who was being harassed by another patron.
Colin Smith, a beloved server at Portland eatery Ox, was enjoying a night out with friends at The High Dive bar in the city’s Buckman neighborhood on July 2 when a patron began harassing them, Oregon Live reported.
The man allegedly made homophobic comments, inappropriately touched two members of the group, and targeted an LGBTQ+ friend, Smith’s former girlfriend, Paulina Solis, 34, told the news outlet.
Smith jumped in to defend his pal but was stabbed multiple times and died. The assailant had already fled by the time cops arrived.

By and by the details will trickle out. Yes, likely much more context and details to come.

Well well.. does not fit the narrative
...to be released on his on recognizance.
Alcohol...
If the killer was a white male this would be national news for months.
“...to be released on his on recognizance.”
Probably.
Don’t you wish people would use their money to pay off their student loans instead of sending it all to GoFundMe?
Nah, he killed a prog unicorn, he is in touble.
On MLK Blvd. You don’t go into that neighborhood w/o a Kevlar vest.
Rahnique Jackson, 24, pictured above, was arrested Friday and faces second-degree murder charges.
Looks gay.
I doubt that we will hear much more about this story since the victim was a white guy and the perpetrator was a black psycho. It no longer fits the media narrative that a redneck was harassing poor peace loving LGBTQ+ people.
Gee, I wonder what color he is?
A pedophile bites the dust ?
When I was in high school there were a couple of girls who would institute fights between guys. It was manipulation that seemed obvious to me, but it worked often enough that boys got injured or scarred. I watched the dynamic as it occurred, and the girls seemed to get a sense of power, prestige and importance from doing this. My guess is something like that is at play here. I later saw the same thing in bars where a girl, who had a jealous boyfriend, would come on to a guy who had no idea he was being set up. (I ruled out bars as a place to meet girls. That turned out to be a great decision.)
Wrong color. Move along, nothing to see here.
Definitely a hobby with some. They do not like it at all when guys fight, excepting of course when fighting over them.
