Biden’s Border crisis is a national nightmare. I cannot imagine the long-term impact of his malicious negligence. But one thing occurred to me regarding our need to get a handle on what is going on and who is coming in and what they are.
According to the Selective Service System Web site, undocumented aliens, asylum seekers, etc., are required by law to register with Selective Service:
“Immigrants
“U.S. immigrants are required by law to register with the Selective Service System 30 days after their 18th birthday or 30 days after entry into the United States if they are between the ages of 18 and 25. This includes U.S. born and naturalized citizens, parolees, undocumented immigrants, legal permanent residents, asylum seekers, refugees, and all males with visas of any kind which expired more than 30 days ago.”
The penalty for not registering is severe and would appear to be a Felony:
“Failure to register with Selective Service is a violation of the Military Selective Service Act. Conviction for such a violation may result in imprisonment for up to five years and/or a fine of not more than $250,000.”
It looks like you need a Social Security number to register. Are all border crossers being issued SSN’s? If not, can they comply with this law? If so, what further benefits are they becoming eligible for?
It is being reported that an unusual number of people crossing the border are “young men of military age.” Border crossers seem to be coming in without proper, or any, documentation. Are they being required to register with Selective Service as our natural born citizens are required to do? Is this law being enforced, or is this just another example of our two-tiered justice system?
No one is above the law.
Well, some US citizens (Bidens, Clintons, etc.) are above the law.
And all illegal immigrants are above all laws too. They’re special.
Yeah... Just what we need. An army of invaders trained and eq1uiped by a government that hates her citizens led by trannies and AA degenerates who hate the nation. What could go wrong with well armed violent third world imports who have ZERO loyalty or pride in America, are put in to the military while.
Interesting.
Technically, USA citizens are not required to get a SSN (although it’s rare that anyone fails to do so, given the tax benefits for the parents).
And, yet this law mandates one.
Excellent & valid point to bring up. Thanks for doing so.
When did it change ? THIS did not use to be the case
.Biden must have changed iy
The thousands and thousands of military age men coming in should scare everyone
Yep. That’s an issue; but it presumes that the draft is reinstated. So, if it is, would we want only natural born, legally registered men to be subject to it? I’m not looking to create a “foreign legion” with this question, nor am I looking to fill the prisons with illegal felons. But I’m wondering if the entire issue is being simply ignored, or if enforcing it would add clarity to who is coming in.
Illegal Aliens and the Selective Service
If we had an Army of our own.
Barrack Obama
> and all males with visas of any kind <
Hmmm. I believe that, as of now, only men have to register for Selective Service. So what happens if a man claims to identify as a woman? Does that person have to register?
After all, such a person is recognized by society as being fully female. He (she?) can compete in women’s sports, demand the use of female pronouns, etc.
Biden had better get this sorted out before our next needless war starts.
LOL. I thought about that, too. But it looks like they thought of that. Funny how that works...when they WANT it to work, unlike in College Sports, etc:
“Selective Service bases the registration requirement on gender assigned at birth and not on gender identity or on gender reassignment. Individuals who are born male and changed their gender to female are still required to register. Individuals who are born female and changed their gender to male are not required to register.
“The legal authority is based on the Military Selective Service Act (MSSA), which does not address gender identify or transgender persons. In addition, Presidential Proclamation 4771 refers to “males” who were “born” on or after January 1, 1960. Thus, Selective Service interprets the MSSA as applying to gender at birth because Congress did not contemplate transgender persons or a person’s gender identity when it required on “males” to register when the Selective Training and Service Act of 1940 was passed and amended by the Selective Service Act of 1948 to create the Selective Service System. Until Congress amends the MSSA or passes a separate law addressing transsexuals and gender identity, Selective Service must follow the intent of Congress when it required only males to register – the registration requirement is based on gender at birth.
“In the event of a resumption of the draft, individuals born male who have changed their gender to female can file a claim for an exemption from military service if they receive an order to report for examination or induction.”
They all have to register regardless of “status”.
Most of them would volunteer in a heartbeat if they knew it might allow them to shoot Americans.
Conscript all of these military age people, train them, and deploy them as peacekeepers or aid workers in their home countries
Not exactly on topic, but is there a way to citizenship by way of serving in the military?
“U.S. immigrants are required by law to register with the Selective Service System 30 days after their 18th birthday or 30 days after entry into the United States if they are between the ages of 18 and 25. This includes U.S. born and naturalized citizens, parolees, undocumented immigrants . . .”
PERFECT: Get them all registered, call them up, and send them to fight in Ukraine. Win/win.
“... I’m wondering if the entire issue is being simply ignored, or if enforcing it would add clarity to who is coming in.”
Well, ask yourself: “who would enforce it?”
It’s not going to be state or local police checking selective service registrations, since that’s a federal matter.
Probably this type of thing only gets checked when one decides to apply for a federal job.

During WWI they had private citizens doing it.

If it is the law, I am sure the Selective Service has a policy on non-social security number holders.
Looks like you might be right and I might be wrong on that point. From the SS Web site:
“Am I required to give my social security number when I register?
“If you have a social security number, you are required to provide it. [50 U.S.C. 3802(b); 32 CFR 1615.4(a)]. However, you are not required to have a social security number to register with Selective Service.”
