I hate to say this, I really do, but Bud Light parent company AB Inbev is going to be just fine, even after this whole fake woman fiasco. I also hate saying that even the Conservative side has #fakenews, and the constant pounding of Bud Light by Conservative media outlets is kind of outrageous, and only serves to further rile us up.
Here's the truth:
I've been watching the AB Inbev stock since this whole thing started. As of March 31, the stock was sitting at $66, slightly under the 52 week high, $20 above the 52 week low. Since then, it has bounced between $63 - $66 per share. Today it is sitting at $65.
Have their sales suffered? Absolutely. Estimates have their losses from this around $6 or $7 billion. That may or may not be true. I've yet to find anything with substantive proof that is the case, however, but we can work with it. We'll call it $7 billion, which is certainly plausible with the size of the present boycott. Now, consider the fact that, last year, AB Inbev made $58 BILLION. Overall, they are a company worth $130 billion. At the end of the day, $7 billion will make a tidy little tax write off.
Will the stock sink at some point? It's entirely possible. If it's going to happen, I think it will happen sometime in July, when their 2nd quarter earnings report is released. Unfortunately, by that point, we will have mostly forgotten about the whole situation. We'll be too occupied by the next thing to come along. Americans have very, very short attention spans. So, while it may slump a little, it will rebound and probably fairly quickly.
Don't get me wrong, I'm no fan of Bud Light. My beef with Bud Light stems less from them putting a fake woman on a beer can, and more from the fact that it's a crappy beer. The reason I'm writing this is because I'm getting so sick and tired of #CLICKBAIT #FAKENEWS Conservative so-called "News Outlets", such as Gateway Pundit, Sean Hannity among others. It's time we do better and quit listening to these clickbait machines whose only goal is to rile us up. We got enough to be riled up about without having these individuals and websites working to rile us more with the claims they are making.

It is still worth something if Bud is not the automatic go-to beer any more. I hope the brand is cashiered.
Is Mulvaney for sale?
I would not be buying InBev stock right now.
This one issue could be contagious to all of their brands—particularly given their tone deaf senior management.
There is no certainty in life—but I would rate this company very high risk—avoid.
You have no understanding of corporate culture. Just shut up and stop pretending that you do. You will be happier for it.
What are you doing with a picture of Mrs Deplorable in a bikini? 🤓
Indeed. There are plenty of extraordinarily woke institutional investers (Calpers anyone), that will be fine with taking it in the shorts for while to shore up another wokester company just to make it look like it's not being hurt. From what I'm seeing though, ALL well-known AB brands are being negatively impacted.
Indeed. I am watching and making note of the defenders of AB in regards to this entire episode, and in fact who is just obviously carrying their water for whatever reason. Informative it is.
Indeed. Pay attention to those who consistently downplay this entire thing.
Pissin’ in the cornflakes are ye?
Should have been Jack Daniels. They had one of those 'trans' freaks promoting their brand at the same time AB did. Unfortunately, the public can't hold 2 thoughts in its head at once.
I'm sure elimination is one option AB will consider. The same drink formula could be reintroduced under a different name and get someone like Billy Carter to endorse it.
A more likely outcome will be to buy, or rent, some recognized Republicans to do an intervention with the public . . . along the lines of Bud has apologized, they will never do it again, they give to the GOP, its our moral duty to forgive etc.
That alone would not return Bud to alcohol greatness but it would, perhaps, allow the brand to live on the periphery like a pardoned criminal.
LOL. That is exactly why I still hold disney stock. They'll never recover as long as I own shares!
Yes, Indeed.
Things that make You go Hmmmmmm...
"dware" may be Pierre Delecto
ESG investing is more important than consumers. They will fill any shortage. The point is to drive the agenda, not the product.
Never said they COULDN'T be defeated. I said they are not being defeated at this time, despite the wild claims by our own Conservative so-called "news" outlets. All the headlines are doing is riling us up, over a fake woman on a beer can, when the fake woman on a beer can is only symptomatic of a larger illness in America. We scream when the leftist outlets push division amongst the populace. We stay quiet when our side does it. Seems to me we need to clean our own house before we think we're changing anything.
I don't know that they will ever return to alcohol greatness. Maybe over the next generation, but it will be a while.
