I couldn’t take it! I love love Carol Burnett she’s the funniest comedian ever, but the people paying tribute to her and the chaotic presentation on stage was bad. After Annie, I tuned out! All Those ungodly POS plastic surgery chipmunks CAN GO STRAIGHT TO HELL! Happy 90th birthday to the funniest woman on the face of this earth. We love you Carol Burnett! Too bad HELLywood ruined this special night for you.

The Carol Burnett show was generally well-written and acted, but the “Tim Conway is soooooo funny, I can’t keep a straight face” schtick from Harvey Korman was tiresome — and obviously fake after the first time, and maybe not even then. But the audience came to “expect” it, and the actors & script writers delivered.

I also liked the miniseries she did called, “Fresno,” I believe.

Tim Conway’s elephant story was the best!!! I laughed so hard I almost stopped breathing!

Vicki Lawrence stole the entire show!

Thanks for posting this, we’re watching it now. Would have missed it without this thread!

I guess I’m a pretty huge fan, my brother and I used to fight for our right to watch The Carol Burnett Show. My mother didn’t approve. She didn’t approve of most things!

Pretty sure they did two shows a night...one as straight as possible, and another where the actors had more leeway to ad lib.

Carol Burnette 90th birthday celebration: How to watch...

I am always astonished with articles that apparently need to help people watch an entertainment program. A football game, how to watch. A TEEVEE show, how to watch.

We Americans are a sad lot. Our superiors feel the need to instruct the proletariat how to watch their bread and circuses.

I guess they're celebrating the 90th birthday after the Betty White 100th went bust when she died a few days before it?

The appearances of Moochelle and Xiao BiDen were repellent.

My wife and I saw Carol in one of those "evening of conversation" appearances. ten years ago in Fort Worth. What a delight, seeing her just casually talk to the audience - felt like I was back in her variety show's studio audience. At age 80, she still belted out her trademark Tarzan yell.

I'm glad I went to the 2013 show; I sensed that the lady herself was still calling the shots on the format and content, not just along for the ride. This birthday celebration, unfortunately, comes with too many "modern" Hollywood trappings. Carol knew what was funny; Hollywood no longer does.

“today I can’t stand her and will not watch reruns.” Agree. It is difficult to enjoy the song Stairway to Heaven and the Carol Burnett show. Both are stale and have lost their delight after many viewings. In other news, the Bible never gets boring.

I remember the satire of “Gone With The Wind” and Dinah Shore was the special guest. Believe it was titled “Went With The Wind”.

“today I can’t stand her and will not watch reruns.”

I told my wife I wouldn’t watch it. She did. I went in after awhile and actually enjoyed the performances and playbacks of her old skits. She is an good person and an important person in the entertainment world.

I saw an interview with Vicki Lawrence talking about that sketch. Having been there for a few seasons she was still intimidated by the cast being comedy legends and her being the new girl. After delivering her last line put the cast laughing on the floor, she said that was when she knew she finally fit in.
