I just want to thank Jim Robinson and everyone who works at Free Republic for 25 years of this great website.
It will be 25 years for me this coming June. I have gained daily laughs, insights, news, and camaraderie - all due to your original idea, Jim, to start this platform so many years ago. Thanks!

I never realized I started so close to the beginning. I assumed they’d ALWAYS been here.

Good job EVERYBODY! What a ride!
My first knowledge about Free Republic came on November 3rd, 1998.
I was at a victory celebration of a candidate for a US Senate seat, (Peter Fitzgerald) in a hotel in Schaumburg, IL., and a woman had a NEWSMAX yard sign that she was flashing the crowd with, that had the Free Republic url written on the otherwise blank backside of the sign. The freeping was truly done up right in grand freeper style.
This freeping struck my interest and once back at home and sitting in front of my pc, I brought up the website, and the rest as they say... is history!
I lurked for two years before getting the gumption to sign up and start contributing to the process. Free Republic was a red pilling with a flow rate comparable to a four-inch diameter stiff fire hose coming off a high-pressure fire hydrant.

I didn't arrive until 2005 but FreeRepublic has been my #1 website, every day, ever since.
Thanks aplenty to Jim, John, Chris, and the whole team! FR is the first thing I read in the morning, the last thing I read at night, and about every hour or two all day long (don't tell my boss).
It's simply the best!! God Bless y'all!!
