‘Lowes third-party delivery is killing their business single-handedly’: Customer catches Lowe’s delivery driver trying to avoid making appliance delivery

We’ve all had the experience of waiting at home for a delivery to arrive, only to discover a note on your door later in the day claiming that a delivery was attempted and failed.

If this has happened to you, you might be wondering how you could have missed your delivery if you were home all day. Now, TikTok user Michelle (@michellegwynn85) has gone viral after sharing her potential explanation.

In a video with over 3.6 million views, Michelle claims that she was waiting at home for a new washing machine to be delivered from Lowe’s. Rather than ring the doorbell and wait for her to answer, Michelle claims (with evidence from her video-enabled doorbell) that the driver simply honked his horn, ran to leave a note on the door, then drove away.

“Not a ring or a knock though I stayed home all day for a delivery,” she wrote in the caption. “The only thing offered was a 10% off a future purchase though we have no plans for future large purchases. We were also not able to get back on the delivery schedule for days and days.”

According to commenters, this is a common problem with Lowe’s delivery.

“I watched lowes pull up, walked out to greet them, and they booked it. claimed I wasn’t home,” alleged a user. “They didn’t even get out of the truck.”

“Same happened to me. I sent video and asked for compensation They gave me $350,” shared another.

“They delivered my in-laws new fridge and literally left it in the yard in the rain. Refused to help them get it inside,” claimed a third.

I got a new dryer from Home Depot and the two delivery men really terrified me. They were surly, dreadlocked, and answered no questions. They forgot additional attachment but I decided to forget about it because I feared their return. I seriously question if I will shop there again.

..........I live in Central Texas too! Thank God!

My PO is sooooo bad that no matter what, we try harrrddddd to NEVER use them. The times we have they screw it up. They didn’t even have my new house in their computer and it took them 2 years to get that done. Not being in their computer meant MOST GPS systems don’t know your there either which causes huge delivery problems.

We don’t even buy stamps from the Post Office.

I had a similar experience with a murphy bed delivery from Amazon. The company (YRC Freight) didn’t want to deliver and played around for two weeks until I canceled. On the first attempt, they stayed at the end of my driveway (1/8th mile from my house), called with ONE ring, then drove off. Next, they wanted us to sign an agreement that they were not responsible for damages before we even saw the bed.

I bought a hardware kit and some plywood and built a Murphy bed last year. Not difficult at all, and lots cheaper than buying one ready-made (which I would have had to assemble anyway).

Being dyslexic should be an automatic DQ from a job with numbers.

We live at 1051. Our mail constantly ends up at 1501, and vice versa, even though we are a house and the other is a trailer park with over 100 lots.

We ended up with two low IQ, non English speaking twits (one male and one female, guess how much use she was) trying to deliver a large appliance. Instead of popping the hinge pins off the door, stupido decides to take the hinges off the door and ends up twisting them because he can’t figure out anything. If they had bothered to call ahead to let us know their arrival time, we’d have had the door off the frame. “No speak English” I had to drag Hubby out of the way before he removed the moron from the living.
Why would you hire someone to deal with customers who cannot communicate with the customers? And no we don’t live in an area with many of them, probably less than 1% of the population.

There are occasional problems here, but on the whole, things work out pretty well. As I stated, as time has gone on, the delivery people have gotten better.

For several years, we’ve had a USPS lady who is excellent. She leaves packages, knocks on the door, etc. Shipping has mostly been very prompt.

It is troublesome to get straight answers from USPS when something goes wrong, but fortunately that doesn’t happen much here.

We purchased a refrigerator from Home Depot. The store salesman specifically told us the drivers have no authority to discount appliances. When the new one showed up they dropped it off the truck. Had a big gash on the visible side. My wife saw the whole thing and wanted to see what they would do. They never said a thing so my wife let them jackass it down the stairs and into the house. When she pointed it out and told them what she saw they said, Oh we will give you a discount. No thanks get it out of here. Called the store and arranged for a new one that went smoothly.
