You were one of the first who jumped to mind, and your post, complete with the comment about central_va, confirms you as an obvious candidate.
To: StAnDeliver
All of you— one at a time.

That’s no fun - I need more than one drinking buddy.
Swordmaker, dayglored, and Lazamataz
I would be toasting 68-69TonkinGulfYatchClub with my first sip.

Who’s the Freeper long ago who figured out the fake font with the Dan Rather story about George W Bush avoiding the Vietnam War? How about that person!

I did have the honor of shaking Jim Robinson’s hand at a rally many years ago.

LOL. Thank you! You would certainly be at the top of the list of North-of-the-Border Freepers, for sure … maybe even cross paths somewhere between Renfrew and North Bay on my next cross-country trip along the Trans-Canada Highway!

I travel a lot for work and am usually scanning FR while at the restaurant table. I keep wishing some FReeper walking past would notice and pull up a chair.
To: StAnDeliver
All of them! We should plan get togethers this year, regional meet ups, connected via Zoom.

If he were still with among the living, Swamp Sniper. He and I shared a love for birds, swamps, and photography.

One person. That’s pretty hard. I’d like to meet several. I’ve only met four.
But if we are sticking with your idea of someone we mutually “get,” I’d go with LittleLinda.
If we are going on pure curiosity, then Ransomnote.
If the criteria is someone we could learn a lot from, then Mewzilla or lizma2
If I was looking for someone who might prove to be funny enough to challenge me to keep from spitting out said beer, perhaps Red Badger.

Me too. I sometimes read the news to my dining partner. I sometimes wish someone at the next table also looking at FR would hear us and say something.
