A newlywed couple opted to have guests shower them with instant mashed potato powder instead of confetti as they exited the chapel.
SNIP
In a Facebook post, a photographer who was working at the event revealed that the bride wanted to save money by using mashed potato powder instead of rice or flower bits.
The photographer wrote that the mashed potato particles went “everywhere” and wound up in guests’ hair, clothes and drinks. Some of the powder mixed with sweat, creating a vomit-inducing mushy mixture. Social media users shared their tots on the couple’s choice, saying the idea to have potatoes instead of confetti is “bizarre,” “gross” and “disgusting.”

I actually like roasted potatoes
Did the birds eat the powder, then keel over and die ????? ..Inquiring minds want to know
“However, some people applauded the cost-saving hack, saying using food instead of plastic shreds of paper is better for the environment.”
I think this may be the real reason. I heard rice shouldn’t be used as dried rice expands in bird’s stomachs. And it’s biodegradable.
At least they weren’t mashed for using roasted potatoes.
And rice doesn't?
I’ve known people that used bird seed.
If they were outside, maybe they should have used birdseed instead. It’s as heavy as rice so it behaves the same, the birds would clean it up in no time, and every goes home happy.
I can mash-potato
(I can mash-potato)
And I can do the twist

Now tell me baby

Do you like it like this

Mashed Potato Time--Dee Dee Sharp
Much better idea than mashed potato powder.
“Social media users shared their TOTS on the couple’s choice...”
I bet most of their thoughts were half-baked.
I do too. But not thrown at me.
why not just hire mimes to throw rice at them?
It's also mentioned in Land of 1000 Dances, but it was originated by James Brown.
Mimes are probably cost prohibitive. Unless you can find some that just work tor the sake of the art.
How many gigs do they get?
I think they just pester people on the street.
