Hollywood unleashes a monster upon itself.
Cinema is a rare art form that transcends all boundaries and brings people together.
Nowhere else does a diverse group of people sit together to experience similar emotions simultaneously. Audiences are enthralled together, they laugh together, they cheer together, they jeer together, they cry together, and if the work is admirable, they applaud together.

When award nominations are announced, many in the media study the demographic groups of the nominees instead of the quality of their work.
A few days back, the same Hollywood that sanctimoniously brands a large section of the public as bigots, was accused of bigotry for snubbing some critically acclaimed films by and about Black people.
The film at the center of this controversy is Till.
Till was released last year and is based on the true story of the mother who pursued justice following the murder of her son Emmett Till in 1955.
All this made Deadwyler a formidable contender at the Oscars. However, when the nominations were announced on Tuesday, Deadwyler’s name was conspicuous by its absence.
The film’s writer and director Chinonye Chukwu was also regarded among the leading contenders for the Best Director category at the Oscars. Alas, she was snubbed.
Chukwu accused Hollywood of racism and sexism.

A little research reveals our old friend Whoopi Goldberg (net worth 60 million) was one of the producers.....no wonder she’s screaming racism.
It appears that the filmmakers expect bonus points because it’s a film about racism. Sometimes films are judged by the content of their quality.

We don’t. But most black filmmakers are savvy enough to skirt the issue.
I remember when female actors were called actresses.
Indeed. They are no different than a bunch of feral animals in a campground.
You are not supposed to feed the animals because after you feed them once they expect you to continue to feed them everytime they see you.
So, now black people expect the Oscars to give them an award whether they deserve it or not.
Pathetic but predicted in advance by everybody with an ounce of common sense.
Also, as a side note, I find it mind boggling that native / US born black people constitute 13% of the US population but are responsible for 50% of violent crime and 80% of the complaints about racism. Never before in recorded history has there ever been a group / class / race of people so perpetually angry, disfunctional and discontent.
They ain’t wore out that Race Card yet?....................
Maybe, just maybe, the film sucked?
Just because you chose a historical and relevant subject doesn’t mean you were any good at it.
Maybe the acting was sub-par.
Maybe the script was bad.
Maybe the cinematography was not good, any number of reasons.................
Couldn’t care less if Blacks trash Hollywood, because what Hollywood produces anymore is trash. Hollywood loves to project itself as oh so woke. Here’s hoping they go broke, to be quite honest.
Or maybe your movie wasn’t that good.
Great. Then go “cultivate” yourself and stop whining about not getting your way.

The thing has only made $9.9 million so far and wasn’t even released until the 1st week of January........talk about demanding instant gratification.........SHEESH
I thought Oscar nomination pics had to be released before Dec 31?...............
