I thought it was going to be a bit more impressive than that.

Depends on how much atmosphere it encounters...................

Hopefully the distance calculated is right as well as the size estimate.

“Boss? We inverted the calculations. The math is the same, it’s just the units that got reversed. It isn’t actually a 20 foot asteroid flying 2200 miles from Earth. It’s a 2200 mile asteroid flying 20 feet from Earth. Oh, I’m taking the night off for a little party...”

Remember when some genius confused feet and meters thereby crashing an expensive launch on Mars. Wonder what happened to him/her? If this were Russia, would they have been executed?

I don’t think that would scare the pants off of me but I’d probably need to change them for a clean pair. ;-)

We can hope the asteroid will hit Washington DC and kill off all the old dinosaurs.

We may have clouds here on the best days to view.

Would like to get some sort of shot of it.

I have a 50:1 optical zoom on my camera. That’s not optimal,
but I’ve gotten some pretty good shots with it.

"I think the recent Russian (Chelyabinsk, sp?) meteor was about this size. It was an air burst, and smashed thousands of windows which cut a nimber of people. "

Ha ha. That was 10 years ago.

We’ve got a lot about that one. :^) I was mostly water ice and debris, so it blew more easily than a stony one of the same size probably would, and yet, it got almost all the way to the surface. And it wasn’t a metropolis where it hit, yet a number of people died, and many others crapped their pants. :^)
