GoingGreen has a cost. Saving the environment meant losing a VERY expensive aquarium and thousands of exotic fish. There ya' go, liberals. Enjoy the suck this winter.

Flood of devastation? A little overly dramatic, no?

Police said there was no evidence the incident resulted from a malicious act.

Other than the malicious act of "ending 'fossil' fuels."

It’s only mid-December and it’s this cold.

Environmentalists are surely saying this is the hottest December on record.

If the aquarium is inside, how could freezing temperatures cause a crack?

Especially with water, one has to ask about where it's all going to flow if something fails. I see more and more design and construction where it's clear that neither the engineers nor the insurance companies have the foresight to ask "what if?".

"It will never break."

"Everything works perfectly all the time."

"It doesn't need a redundant system." (I see this especially with electronics in vehicles where one cheap switch knocks the whole system out).

Or in the case of Pfizer and Pfauci:

"We didn't test it but we can assure you that it's safe and effective."

“There was speculation freezing temperatures that got down to minus 10 degrees Celsius (14 degrees Fahrenheit) overnight caused a crack in the acrylic glass tank, ...”

What ... was this thing outside? I would assume that this aquarium would be indoors since it housed tropical fish. I would also assume that the building would be heated to 72 degrees or higher for tropical fish, not to mention heating the water.

Or were they ordered to turn the temp down in the building (or off) during the night time?

The 25 meter tall (82 foot tall) AquaDom was described as the biggest cylindrical tank in the world and held more than a thousand tropical fish before the incident.

It does have a certain "revealed in the galil" vibe to it. Folks might miss out on the simple imagery at that link.

I just never know when this stuff will come in handy. Like electronic trading cards.. collect 'em all:

נוני ימא

...נוני ימא (בתרגום מארמית: דגי הים) הוא כינוי לנשמות של עלמא דאתכסיא

***

Moshe is the name he received when he was pulled from the waters of the Nile by Basya bas Pharoah: “I drew him from the water” (מן המים משיתיהו). As explained in Chassidus, this is referring to the lofty level of Moshe’s neshoma, that it derives from the highest, hidden worlds (עלמא דאתכסיא), the world of Tohu which is likened to water. According to this explanation, the level of “Moshe” is entirely above the world, G-dliness that has no relationship with the world.

“Unfortunately, none of the 1,500 fish could be saved,” Giffey said.

Analog time: the souls [נוני ימא] of the hidden worlds [עלמא דאתכסיא] have been released.
