You have to remember the Ukraine conflict is two wars. The first special military operation with about 150,000 troops designed to pressure Zelensky into negotiating an agreement for autonomy for Donbas, de-militarization, de-nazification.
They had a tentative agreement in Istanbul at the end of March. Deep state stepped in and make Zelensky an offer. If he would dump the agreement and continue the war they would provide all the weapons and financial support he needed.
Zelensky took their offer...and the second “war” began. Proxy war of NATO vs. Russia. That one was unexpected and was not likely to be short.
Which would be a lie meant to explain away the complete failure to take Kyiv, including tens of thousands of dead troops, gridlocked armored vehicles stretching for miles and stuck for days due to incompetence, and waves of special forces trying again and again to take the same airport all killed.

If your 500-800 a day number was accurate (in fact, during the offensive in Kharkiv they claimed they had killed 1,500 in just one day) Russians would be able to provide proof for this, which they never do.

Yes i have been reading the claims of hundreds of uks killed per day for months. The ukes have lost so many that the russians have retreated because they cant find any ukes to fight.
