Somewhere on this forum there is a discussion on whether leno being a friend of Biden’s and if that makes him a leftist!🤔

I don’t know if he is or isn’t.🥴

Always important to know when you’re about to complete all 3 sides of the fire triangle.

Photo of self-immolation by Buddhist monk....

When Time, Life and Look published those stories with photos I thought “boy are they stupid” in Viet Nam and elsewhere. Little did we know our soldiers would soon be dying by the thousands in that war agitated by the Communists and Buddhists.

Right. The fire danger of oily rags has to do with heat released during the polymerization process. Linseed oil is an oil that does this, but it's not the only such oil.

From Wikipedia:

A drying oil is an oil that hardens to a tough, solid film after a period of exposure to air, at room temperature. The oil hardens through a chemical reaction in which the components crosslink (and hence, polymerize) by the action of oxygen (not through the evaporation of water or other solvents). Drying oils are a key component of oil paint and some varnishes. Some commonly used drying oils include linseed oil, tung oil, poppy seed oil, perilla oil, and walnut oil. Their use has declined over the past several decades, as they have been replaced by alkyd resins and other binders.

Since oxidation is the key to curing in these oils, those that are susceptible to chemical drying are often unsuitable for cooking, and are also highly susceptible to becoming rancid through autoxidation, the process by which fatty foods develop off-flavors. Rags, cloth, and paper saturated with drying oils may spontaneously combust (ignite) after a few hours as heat is released during the oxidation process.

“Always important to know when you’re about to complete all 3 sides of the fire triangle.”

It’s now the fire square. The fourth corner is the fire chief or incident commander. (;

I owned a pinto wagon that I lived in as a teen.

It was a great little wagon until one Really heavy rain
storm that you could barely see through ... I attempted a left hand turn and hit a low lying center
Island curb.

Most of the engine brackets disintegrated!☹️😢

That is correct. linseed oil and mineral are the usual culprits because they are more susceptible to it, but spontaneous combustion involving oil soaked rags in a confined space can happen with any volatile petroleum product, even motor oil.
