If it was an EV, we may never be informed. If they do fess up, they will redirect away from the regular, current EV technology to a ‘custom’ ‘unique’ creation that has no relevance to the fire traps they are selling everyone today.
One of the most ‘unique’ EV fire videos I have seen is a man grabbing his very young son from the EV just as it begins to burn. The video is from behind the car. One can see some smoke begin to leave the car, then immediately a very large amount of smoke develops. Just as the flames begin, the man launches from the vehicle carrying his child. Imagine the father furiously attempting to release his child from the car seat to get him out before he is burned and killed.
Just wait until someone develops a faster way to mass construct these fire traps. Due to the lack of materials, it may not be soon. But if someone does, we should set up remote control, constant video outside the factory to document just how many-per-thousand burn up.

That's exactly what I want to do every time I work on one of my vehicles.
Which is often.

Petrol vehicle CARBURETOR BACKFIRE during hand-prime is my guess.
Probably tinkering with an old bird that had the hiccups.

Been there, done that, have the scars as proof.
I will say that burns are worse than broken bones, lacerations, or even being shot.
Hoping it was just a flash and not deep!
