Ponder this: hundreds or thousands may have to freeze to death in order to help slow global warming. Huh?! Could there be a sadder and more preposterous statement than that?
The BBC, a publicly-funded broadcaster implicitly entrusted with disseminating vital messages to the U.K. citizenry during times of national crisis, has allegedly already begun preparing emergency broadcasts designed to reassure the people of Britain should extensive winter blackouts be necessary in the coming months. These potential blackouts would inevitably cause disruptions to the Commonwealth’s banking systems, internet access, mobile phone networks, and traffic lights, among other things. And would, of course, cause significant hardship—or worse—for much of the populace.
Already, various media outlets are speculating about how many Europeans will freeze to death this coming winter. And how tragically ironic that this will, in large part, be because of a misguided attempt to stave off global warming?!
Eschewing fossil fuels and going green may lead to frostbite induced gangrene. Or death. But, to hell with oil and coal, to hell with fracking, say no to nuclear. Moreover, some elites say that the dearth of natural gas from Russia is a great opportunity to jumpstart the switch to renewable energy such as wind and solar power. (And butterfly farts, apparently. Or do those put more greenhouse gases into the atmosphere? I forget.)
And the United States will follow suit, sooner rather than later, unless Democrats are soundly routed in the 2022 and 2024 elections. If that doesn’t happen, and the country “goes green,” the U.S. will have come full circle, from its rag-tag militia freezing at Valley Forge despite (General) Washington’s best efforts, to regular citizens freezing because of Washington (DC)’s policies nearly 250 years later.

It’s October not November.
The UK, France and Germany get freezing temperatures in winter, but only for a few days in each month.
A Brit, Frenchman or German is unlikely to freeze to death in their dwelling.
Poland gets colder.
Just the Yankees. It doesn’t get that cold here in Georgia. ;-D
“It is the new religion of the left and they will let people die before they admit that they are wrong.”
Here is the problem, to admit wrong there has to be a mistake made. This is no mistake, this is all going just as planned...
‘brain’ on ice as well ?
Already K1 shortage in NH and is being rationed. Get an electric heater? Electricity prices have doubled in NH in 2022. FJB and the rest of the liberal idiots. They hate America and the American people.
Much ado about nothing.
Americans and Western Europeans are spoiled and bored. They want change and they want it now! They’re tired of clean streets, abundance and security and will trade it for shortages, suffering, pestilence and famine. There’s no other way to explain it. We support politicians who tell us that it’s our future and destiny.
Three years after President Trump made his statement, “They are not after me, they are really after you. I am just in the way”....we see the wisdom of his words.
Bad medicine, predictions of limited food and starvation, insufficient heat, power blackouts, destruction of our monetary system, military in shambles, attempts to destroy the family, politicized FBI, DOJ....and still a huge percentage of the citizens of this country are unable to see the wisdom of Trump’s statement.
How can it be that so many are blind.
We’re putting a wood burning stove in our new house in the country. We have about 5 acres of hardwoods.
I was thinking they could burn cow chips, but then I’ve remembered they hate cows too… even more than Russians.
Good news! Thanks for posting! A penny saved ... for later.
Mother Gaea, deity of the cult of climate change, demands human sacrifices. It would be a great irony if this winter Greta Thunberg succumbed to the effects of hypothermia.
You will starve and freeze until you obey the one world order.
‘Most people remark it’s been the warmest November in thirty years.’
maybe they said that last year, because this year, in case you haven’t noticed, it ain’t November yet...
Another Insider member, Vitalie, is back with an energy update:
"The energy situation in Moldova keeps worsening. The main electric utility has warned about a 284 MWh deficit in the power grid, following Ukraine's decision to stop all energy exports last week. There is also a shortage of Russian gas (which the Russians are blaming on the Ukrainian gas transit company), which is the main source of electricity generation, and Romanian imports can't cover the deficit of either gas or electricity. So the utility is warning about potential rolling blackouts. And a follow up with an interesting glimpse into post-Soviet era:
A local news outlet has asked their staff if they remember how they dealt with the blackouts during the 90s (it was a common thing back then over here). Here are three accounts (translated from Russian), Europeans should take heed, unfortunately.
"I remember doing my homework by candlelight when I was in elementary school, and there was a brick on the kitchen gas stove to warm the air better. - Olga Gnatkova, Deputy Chief Editor of NewsMaker

We made a lamp with a bandage and oil. There was also a kerosene stove, which still lies somewhere in the attic. - Natalia Titova, NewsMaker social media editor

My grandparents and I played cards under a kerosene lamp. Grandmother always cheated, and grandfather sang Moldovan songs to us. We have two kerosene lamps, one of them is a wedding present for my great-grandmother and great-grandfather. They took it to Siberia, returned with it, we survived the 90s with it, and, apparently, we will have to use it again. - Alina Mikhalkina, correspondent for NewsMaker
Twenty years later, we’re going back to kerosene lamps again.
November?!
Thanks God I have a wood stove. I’ll convert my water heater to run off the wood stove if I have to.
My 40th year heating with wood. I started back in the 70s with the first oil embargo during the Carter era.
