Six people who tested positive for monkeypox – two in New York City, two in Chicago, one in Nevada and one in Maryland – have died, local health departments have confirmed.
The New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene said it was “deeply saddened by the two reported deaths, and our hearts go out to the individuals’ loved ones and community.”
“Every effort will be made to prevent additional suffering from this virus through continued community engagement, information-sharing and vaccination,” the NYC DOH said.
The two Chicagoans who died after testing positive for monkeypox had multiple other health conditions, including weakened immune systems, according to the Chicago Department of Health (CDPH).

The faster people die from a pathogen, the less likely it is to become a pandemic.
I’d like to know they died. Diagnosed with monkey pox and killed when he wrecks his motorcycle riding home? Will CDC use the same criteria as with the Covid scam?
Monkeypox is one nasty disease and I feel sorry for them. That is no way to go.
One would think these deaths and the manner in which they died would serve as a deterrent but probably not.
AIDS I guess. Such a high risk lifestyle we are all compelled to celebrate.
“Come on everybody we’ve got quilting to do.”
Am I the only one that was surprised that a good part of congress didnt catch it?
They likely had AIDS and fifteen other butt-distributed diseases.
That monkeypox is a nasty disease. Behave like a monkey, and die.
“I’ve never had it and I hope I never get it again!”
Just because you can..doesn’t mean you should.
“the manner in which they died would serve as a deterrent but probably not.”
The homo lifestyle is like playing Russian Roulette with your Pecker. The chances of death are greater than one thinks.
Like AIDS, Monkeypox is spread through homosexual activity as the main vector. Give honest information and maybe the spread can be mitigated by actually telling the at-risk population it is their own risky behavior that endangers them. Pretending, like AIDS, ‘everyone is equally at risk’ will always fail because we already know how the disease is spread and 98.99% of the population are not into that sort of thing. I’m not at risk of OD’ing on heroin for the same reason.
Oh but it’s a massive pandemic!!!..... Can ya just quit getting rear-ended???
“Every effort will be made to prevent additional suffering from this virus through continued community engagement, information-sharing and vaccination,” the NYC DOH said.
Not good enough. We’re going to need Monkeypox Passports to ensure that the pox-ridden can’t eat in restaurants, go to the movies or travel on airplanes and infect the rest of us.
Everyone knows the deal here. No sympathy whatsoever.
“Can ya just quit getting rear-ended???”
So I wonder, Is it always the other persons fault if you get rear ended?
Asking for a friends insurance company.
Can we put monkey photos on it, or w0uld that be tasteless?
safe and effective
So?
Therein lies the truth, that the deceased were likely "alternate lifestyle" men with compromised immune systems. AIDS, Hepatitis C,
and other STDs had probably rendered the young males susceptible to the next assault, in this case monkeypox.
In the end, although ill, they just would not curtail their proclivity for multiple male sex partners. (Or, so I've been told.)
