Some people might never get Covid thanks to their genes, scientists say.
Researchers from the University of Oxford have found that people who have a particular mutation produce a larger antibody response after getting vaccinated.
Around 30 to 40 per cent of people have the gene, known as HLA-DQB1*06. The boosted protection might be enough to block out infections entirely.
It may partly explain why some people never get the virus, even when family members come down with the virus.
The US has the highest number of confirmed cases of any country in the world at 179million, the equivalent of more than half of the entire population.
This is likely an underestimate, however, because testing was patchy at the start of the outbreak and some people never take a test.
Yet, anecdotally there are many stories of people whose entire families come down with the virus and they avoid an infection – even after sharing a bed with someone who is sick.
This group of people have been dubbed ‘never Covid’ and scientists have never quite worked out how they managed it.
The ‘never Covid’ group might have a gene called HLA-DQB1*06

Genethat blocks infection? Why get a vaccine?
Never had it. Never vaxed.
More vaccine pushing. I've never gotten it even though I've never been vaccinated and didn't quarantine from my wife when she had it twice.
Or, it was so mild you didn’t know you had it if you didn’t get tested. I’ve known people who tested positive and weren’t sick.
Of course, of the people who had it, 99.5% were going to survive anyway without intervention. So getting a vax always seemed a little superfluous even had it worked, which we have learned it does not.
Me thinks we mutant Covid-19 ninjas are a problem for depopulation proponents.
Entire household never vaxxed, never caught covid. Brother’s family fully vaxxed, everyone had covid.
Never vaxxed, hardly ever wore a mask, never got covid.
I’d say never....but I also have bad luck, so I ain’t saying...
We came down with Covid three weeks later. Took 18mg of Ivermectin for four days and that ended it.
If you have O- blood, your risk was basically cut in half.
Not vaxxed, never got it. Just was in hospital where they tested me on entry.
I was vaxxed to keep my job, but I was fully confident that I wasn’t going to get it no matter what.
My wife had it for over two weeks.
I had no symptoms of any consequence, save for a “fever” of 99.something for a day and a half. Got tested for COVID three times and didn’t have it, while my wife tested positive.
Neither of us have the vaccine.
Odd.
I finally got it in September so nope for me
same...no vaxx...no covid...I took lots of VIT d and quercetin when this, whatever it was, hit and my Vit d levels were high during this time....
Isn’t that illegal? 🤡
A while back I had a bit of a cold, It could’ve been Covid or it could’ve been a minor cold as many of the symptoms are similar. I stayed home and rested for a day felt better the next day and just went back to work in normal life. I know people who have gotten it probably 2 to 4 tests to confirm it, maybe another to verify and then several negative test before they dare leave the house
