VIDEOS AT LINK.....................
San Antonio Police, today, released video from an officer-involved shooting that occurred on Sunday, October 2, 2022. Below is a brief synopsis of the critical incident:
At around 10:30 p.m. Sunday evening, an officer handling a disturbance at the McDonald’s at 11700 Blanco Road noticed a vehicle in the parking lot he believed had fled from him during an attempted stop the night before. The vehicle, which was not related to the disturbance call, was occupied by a male, 17-year-old driver driver, and a female passenger. The Officer abruptly opened the driver’s door and ordered the driver out of the car. The officer reported that he was hit by the open door as the driver started to reverse the vehicle. The officer then stepped back and opened fire on the vehicle as the driver continued to reverse away from him.
The driver shifted the vehicle to drive and then turned away from the Officer to leave. The Officer shot several more times at the fleeing vehicle and then ran after the vehicle. The driver suffered multiple gunshot wounds. His passenger was uninjured.
San Antonio Police Chief William McManus has determined that the actions of the probationary officer during this critical incident were in violation of departmental tactics, training, and procedures. The Department’s Shooting Team is finalizing its investigation and will forward its findings to the Bexar County District Attorney’s office for an independent investigation. As of this publication, the investigation remains ongoing.
funny how there is no sound just before the cop opened the door.....wonder what was left out...???
from what we see, the guy in the car was just eating his mickey d's and this cop startled him.....without an apparent warning....
The police were just doing their job, following standard procedure. There is no evidence of any policeman violating any citizen’s rights.

He doesn't actually need probable cause according to some here. He can just walk up to a car, yank open the door and demand the occupants immediately bow down to his authority. Any action on their part but abject abasement, is grounds to start shooting them immediately.
Improbable cause. I would also refer to civil asset forfeiture as an example of applied improbable cause.
It shouldn't exist in a nation of free peoples
FR is very interesting. There are many people here that think any police action is justified. Almost as if some people on here don’t really want the”free”, but rather prefer authoritarian top down control.
That cop needs to go to jail for a long, long time.
Valid point. I only know what I read in the article.
Thankfully, there are a lot less knee-jerk bootlickers around here than there used to be.
Back in the day, we went around and round with them.
You like that Kiwi after taste, I take it.
“Putting the car in motion was a seriously stupid thing to do. “
Maybe. But in an urban area your reaction to someone randomly and abruptly yanking open the door should always be to slam on the gas.
Indeed. It's interesting that I don't catch near as much flack these days except from the usual suspects. My opinions haven't changed very much, other than perhaps becoming more solid with the evidence right before our eyes. I think reality has become a lot more sharply defined over the past decade or so.
He was a disgrace in Minneapolis.
white shooting white = no media interest
Tell that to the people that get arrested during/after a seizure.
I don’t see what he did wrong
His chief did!
...thankfully
