Did he call out dead people?
Somewhere I saw a video of what appeared to be an entire mobile home floating down a street somewhere in Naples................
See videos in post #21. Kissimmee flooded. Seminole county where I used to live, smack dab Ctrl FL had evacuations for flooding. Never happened in my 20 years there.
Friend with a house in Naples came out unscathed, ripped patio screen.
I think that was a portable construction office but yes, basically a single wide trailer.
Kissimmee, well inland near Disney
Half of FL used to be swamp and occasionally returns to swamp for a time. Disney is built on Georgia clay brought in to fill in the swamp.
It was definitely ‘mobile’.........................😜
When my wife saw that she immediately started humming the theme to Gilligan’s Island.
LoL!
That looks like the Gaylord Palms hotel. If it is my place is likely underwater.
if Ian had 155+ mph winds on landfall... you’d see piles and piles of lumber. no houses. just piles of lumber.
the storm surge happening during high tide insured plenty of flooding. videos of soil erosion and cars floating is typical of CAT-1 storm merged with high tide (ie: hurricane sandy)
there is no evidence of the storm being anything more than a CAT-1
kinda like Stand Up Jim"...
whatta herculean hurricanian...
i think i will make t shirts...
hurricanian survivor of hurricane ian...
That damage was all wind, not surge.
Maybe we should send a fleet of EVs to SW FLA. Wait....
During daylight of Hurricane Dennis in 2005, I looked out our west window and saw what I thought was a truck coming down the street and wondered who would be out driving in the middle of a hurricane.
As it got closer I saw it wasn’t a vehicle but a SHED!
One of those green and white metal garden sheds you buy at Lowes and Home depot, 8x10’.
It came down the street and glided past the house and then the wind took it up into the air, over the elementary school that used to be across from our house and it disappeared into the sky like Dorothy’s house on the Wizard of Oz.............
I can only imagine Deltona. Poor city planning. They flood during every heavy rain storm. Saw a Seminole County presser. Flooding in Altamonte Springs, Heathrow, Lake Mary, Winter Springs, all along the little Wekiva River. Pretty much anywhere where low lying intersections get 1-2 foot of water in a heavy rain got 3-5 feet from Ian.
What a trip
Oh that is just rich. Not a word about the lava flowing in the streets.
