The body found near the Memphis crime scene late Sunday has been identified as missing teacher and young mother Eliza Fletcher, the Memphis Police Department confirmed.
Fletcher was abducted while she was running near the University of Memphis early Friday morning. Agents with the U.S. Marshals Service arrested Cleotha Abston, 38, on Saturday after matching his DNA to a pair of sandals found near the scene.
Abston was charged Tuesday morning with first-degree murder, in addition to his previous charges, records show.

I like the term feral animal!!
I would go during the day to avoid crime.
Early morning or late night to avoid covid.
Early morning to avoid both on the theory that most criminals operate at night instead of early in the morning.
As opposed to referring to MAGA Republicans as semi-fascists?
Got it.
Another white woman murdered by a black man.
This horrible event really hits home. We were out to dinner with our newly married son and his wife. I had just read MINDHUNTER (a must read for all women) by John Douglas,FBI profiler and started discussing the book. One of the tips that was given was (if you are attacked in a public area, fight, scream, do whatever you have to do and be PREPARED TO DIE WHERE YOU ARE, you will have a better chance of survival, because if you are taken you will suffer beyond anything imaginable.
Just a week later our DIL was carjacked at a Home Depot parking lot about noon. She was putting garden pots in her trunk and was driving a convertible. As she shut the trunk a black man came up behind her and offered to take her cart which he did. She thanked him thinking he worked at the store. As soon as she got in the car, he jumped in and told her to “DRIVE”. She was in absolute shock unable to move and he screamed it again. So she backed out and directed the car to the front of the store, deciding she would ram the store if she had to but she was not going to be taken. As she got closer she said she “screamed for help,”. A worker said he barely heard her but knew she was in trouble. He ran to the car opened the driver side and pulled her out and she ran. The perp jumped to the driver side, there was a struggle and then he pulled a gun on the worker who ran. The guy peeled out of the parking lot took off to the freeway. Several miles later he wrecked the car, jumped out and hid in the weeds. Helicopters and cops were everywhere around the car. Then he ran to a running cop car and took it, wrecking it several miles later, he was injured and arrested.
We have no doubt that had she left with him she would have been injured or killed. The way she reacted when it was happening, was because of our discussion at dinner several days earlier which is a miracle. Seriously, the book possibly saved her life. Another tip in the book is NEVER park next to a white van without windows or if you return to your car and there is a white van next to your car, DO NOT GO TO YOUR CAR, return to the store. I follow this advice every day since.
I am not upset...I am used to it...find it funny sometimes
We need to get back to quick served justice. Swift trials, swift justice.
It won’t eliminate ALL acts like this, but it will bring the crime rate down.
Work in a store near Chelsea Avenue in Memphis for two weeks and reassess your beliefs.
I totally agree. I carry when I’m out with my wife or by myself, always scanning the area. We need our 2A Right To Bear Arms more than ever.
I don’t know if the poor lady had any means to protect herself. It doesn’t seem like it.
He’s a good man that takes his oath seriously to love and do what is best for you. My wife and I have been married for 33 years and we love being with each other but if she has to go anywhere without me she will carry.
Btw, we had to make a quick stop at Walmart over the weekend…we haven’t been there for a very long time. We literally were in the store for less than a minute and she asks “ you’re carrying, right”? She smiled because she knew I always carry and am always scanning the environment. We got in the car to leave and she said “wow…that was scary”.
We both agree to go places together as we like to but if we can’t she will go to areas we know are safer even if it’s further and more money. This started in 2020 and our safer areas are shrinking here in eastern PA.
Most blacks are decent people who work hard and take care of their family. The big difference, though, is that there are a lot of left wing activists that want to say that the bad ones are bad because they are victims of racism or the effects of slavery. White people don’t make any excuses for the bad apples in their group. When a guy like Ted Bundy rapes and kills women, we want the police to catch him and lock him up for life or execute him. There are plenty of meth heads, rapists, and killers among white people and they should be punished for their crimes. Simple as that.
“...I moved to a rural area in Arkansas to get away from the criminal black hordes...”
Isn’t West Memphis as bad as the bad parts of Memphis? I thought most of the flatlands all the way to Forrest City were pretty rough. Champion boxer Sonny Liston was from a slough out from Forrest City and he was so poor that he was never photographed before his first police mug shot in St. Louis. My mother was from Humphrey, Arkansas just west of Stuttgart. It is a nice but very small town in the area where cotton and soybeans take over from Stuttgart’s rice growing.
Indigenous? They're transplants and that's key in their behavior.
They aren't "naturally" from there geographically, nor in urban environments. City residents adapted over the thousands of years it took for cities to develop. Cities have been devolving into ruins for decades as the city dwellers left and rural transplants fail at adapting.

I’m a guy, I carry concealed, and my wife doesn’t want ME going to Wal-Mart during the day. It’s a real zoo, anymore.
Wait....has his mama said he was a good boy trying hard to put his life back together?
It’s been about 20 years since I was in Memphis doing the touristy thing... Wife, kids, SUV from out of state with luggage on top of the luggage rack.
You know.... A serious target.
But I knew I better get the hell off of Beale St. before sundown. And I did.
All the more reason to start carrying >SOMETHING< anything! Doesn’t have to be a gun, it can be a set of keys spread out between the fingers, pepper spray, a pen, anything!
“Indigenous? They’re transplants and that’s key in their behavior. “
A “shock-jock” radio guy I used to listen to in DC back in the 80-90s, “The Greaseman,” used the term “I.P.s” which stood for “Indigenous Population,” when referring to “the locals.” It’s an adaptation of what they used to say in old “Jungle Movies” such as Tarzan, etc., “the natives are restless.”
Amazing story - I will pass it on.
I was once in south Seattle in an industrial area and saw a box van parked with a guy out in the back and when he saw me he waved some jumper cables at me. My inner warning single went full on and I kept driving. I had what I’m sure was another escape from danger -too long to tell - but we women have to listen to our instincts as well as have protection.
