The body found near the Memphis crime scene late Sunday has been identified as missing teacher and young mother Eliza Fletcher, the Memphis Police Department confirmed.
Fletcher was abducted while she was running near the University of Memphis early Friday morning. Agents with the U.S. Marshals Service arrested Cleotha Abston, 38, on Saturday after matching his DNA to a pair of sandals found near the scene.
Abston was charged Tuesday morning with first-degree murder, in addition to his previous charges, records show.

Hate to say it, but the girl was pretty stupid jogging alone at 4:00 in the morning in MEMPHIS. This is where a dose of racism (aka reality) would have saved her life. Do not assume that black people are just like white people because most of them are not. You might get away with jogging in Vermont at that time of the morning, but Memphis ain’t Vermont.

My wife gets p.o.ed occasionally because I insist on tagging along when she goes places.......and that’s in the daytime.....her going out nights by herself is non-negotiable.
Then when something like this happens I just look at her and say “and you want to run around by yourself”......she usually doesn’t say much.

…they are just recognizing the common sense of NOT running in the dark, carrying no weapon or even mace ( because I think if she had it she would have used it!)

I thought I read she does the same run, same time, same route.
Given nowadays she could be abducted in the broad daylight, but it is just plain dumb to run at night!
