Target, the leader in wokeness took a 90% loss over the same period last year after they overstocked on clothing and accessories for transgenders. For some strange reason, they decided that there are many more transgenders than there actually are. As a result, they had to lower prices in order to lower their inventory that just wasn’t selling. Target had previously shot themselves in the foot after letting people use the bathrooms and changing rooms according to how they identified.
In the second quarter of this year, Target reported earnings of $183 million in second-quarter net income after earning $1.82 billion over the same period last year. In the first quarter, profits dropped by 52% over last year. That means Target averaged a profit of 94,427.24 per store in the second quarter. That is pathetic and could cause them to close even more stores and put more people out of work.
Target stock dropped $7.15 a share on the news of decreased profits. In 2016, they shot themselves in the foot when they began allowing men in the women’s bathrooms and changing rooms. They kept the policy, even though it cost them, customers. Target doubled down and began selling clothing designed to help people “transition” including young children and they bought huge amounts of chest binders and packing underwear, “which [gives] the appearance of a phallus...”

Get woke, go broke. I used to occasionally shop at Target. Haven’t in years.
Transgender clothing was a very small amount of Target’s issues, if at all, unfortunately.
Remember when girls stuffed their bras?
Packing underwear??? Who knew? I guess it’s so show you have some bulk in that part of the body. But makes you wonder, how much demand is there for such a product? And gets back to, how many people are truly “transgender” or suffering gender dysphoria?

Many years ago, I used to shop occasionally at Target. Then they went woke and I never went back. Can’t imagine I ever will. However, their target demographic seems to be college professors, so as long as there are colleges, they’ll be hitting their demographic.
The last time I went to Target is when I went in, took a dump and left. I like Target.....

We are now in an era where one woke person can call the shots for an entire company. So maybe one woke (and very stupid) executive at Target suggests a line of transgender clothing. Everyone else is afraid to disagree for fear of being called a homophobe, or whatever.
Presto! Target has a line of transgender clothing.
For a long time the problem with American companies has been control by lawyers and bean counters. But that problem didn’t necessarily hurt, and in many cases enhanced, their bottom lines and shareholder returns. Permitting control by the certifiably insane, on the other hand, is pure poison. Heads need roll like tournament night at the bowling alley.

Corporations have been pushing leftist agendas and talking points since at least the 1960s.
I've been hearing conservatives say some variation of "Get woke, go broke," since at least the 1980s.
And yet, corporations (and the culture at large) have only gotten woker and richer. They simply raise their prices.
You can't go broke for wokeness when all your competitors are similarly woke. Where can the consumer go?
Amazon, Walmart, Target, CostCo -- all woke.
Verizon, T-Mobile, AT&T -- all woke.
VISA, MasterCard, Discover, American Express -- all woke.
Etc.
