This is the horrific moment an LA driver speeds through a red light before slamming into five cars at an intersection, killing six including an infant and a pregnant woman.
The black Mercedes races past a gas station then smashes into the side of a traffic jam, causing a flaming inferno in the Windsor Hills district.
It sends the vehicles screeching across the street before finally coming to a stop in a mangled wreck just feet away from rows of highly flammable pumps.
The gut-wrenching pile up, between of South La Brea Avenue and Slauson Avenue, killed the pregnant woman, her unborn child and the three-year-old.
Meanwhile seven people have been left fighting for their lives with horrendous injuries following the devastating smash at 1.40pm.

The cars were ripped apart. Fuel tanks are plastic on most vehicles made since the 90s. The whole mess was pushed into gas pumps at a fuel station. Even with all the safety features, an impact that hard will tear things right out of the vehicle. Turning off the fuel pump in the car won't matter when the tank is twenty feet from the car and ripped in half.
And it doesn't look like it braked either.
Looks like it could've been going 100 mph.
No fuel tank in a non-race car survives such an impact.
The fuel tank was ripped open instantly. Horrible way to die.
Prediction: Somewhere a sick EV disciple will use this as an example of the danger of ICE vehicles.
Sudden Jihad Syndrome?
I don’t know - The AntiChrist?
Looks like a shot from the TV series “Severance.” That would be Adam Scott. Must be one of those digital display billboards that plays videos.
I carry a valve stem tool in my console just for such ‘people’.
Very satisfying.
For others, a strained liquid of fermented mixture of baby shrimp & whole milk poured along the space at the bottom of the windshield. Done right, the effect isn’t realized for a day or two and isn’t linked to any specific event.
Worst smell you’ve ever been exposed to absent rotting flesh.
Also very satisfying ;-)
Yes, it does.
Me either.
Since George Gascon is still the DA, they might cancel each other out.
Wait, what? A child? Not a clump of cells?
25 years ago I was seeing patients in a medical office building when a lady drove full speed across the parking lot and crashed into the doctor’s office next to mine. The receptionist died. The driver survived.
Unfortunately people drive like idiots everywhere all the time. Defensive driving is essential, but it won’t necessarily save you from the plague of bad drivers.
That intersection is very popular for street take overs
Never trust drivers around you will do the safe thing. Driving is now more dangerous than ever.
Expect the unexpected.
Many are on prescription medication, on illegal drugs, are mentally enraged or distracted. Scan constantly when driving and keep looking at your mirrors.
There is little sense left of community responsibility when driving. There is now a common mentality “I own the road and everyone else is not important.”
Driving a vehicle on a busy city street at 100 mph becomes vehicular homicide when others die.
Of course the driver survived and others died a horrible death and were injured with horrible injuries. That’s the way it almost always goes.
So much of me wishes that the guilty party were one of the badly injured or dead in so many of these cases, instead of innocent people who paid for the other person’s recklessness.
Sometimes you just get miracle while driving.
Yesterday I was driving down the highway in the fast lane and suddenly didn’t feel like going fast enough to pass the semi in the middle lane. I slowed a little and got behind him. VERY unusual for me to do something like this.
A minute later traffic came to a halt for a nasty 5-car accident that included the 2 cars that would have been in front and behind me had I stayed in that fast lane. I certainly would have been in that wreck right in the middle of things.
It does make one wonder!
I’ve had similar things happen to me, like it was my fault for having the right of way.
