Hamden FD, Facebook photo of the burning electric bus in CT Connecticut’s governor Ned Lamont and Senator Chris Murphy spent $25.7 million on a project to replace buses with electric buses. Twelve were delivered, and one went ablaze just sitting, parked, engine turned off, and with no one in it. The federal taxpayers fully paid for the project.
According to CT Insider, they received a dozen with ten more on the way, but they’re all pulled from service over the bus going ablaze due to a lithium battery fire. It’s “out of an abundance of caution,” said the spokesperson. Nothing to see here.
According to the Hamden Fire Department, the bus was unoccupied. It was just sitting there, CT Insider reported.
According to CT Transit spokesperson Josh Rickman, the buses won’t return until after an investigation.
“Lithium-ion battery fires are difficult to extinguish due to the thermal chemical process that produces great heat and continually reignites,” said the Hamden Fire Department. They received an $11.4 million federal grant of federal taxpayer money for the project. They also got two other federal taxpayer grants, one for $7.4 million and another for $6.7 million. It will allegedly get the US off oil. EVs do require electricity which relies on coal in the US. In other words, people in Nebraska or Texas helped to pay for these buses, which cost twice as much as gas buses, which don’t go ablaze for no reason. We support EVs but they should not be rushed before they are ready for market. We can’t afford this.
The buses are New Flyers made in Minnesota.
To save the planet, Government should lead by example
And would YOU follow that example?

Insights welcome.
Also, patriots are reminded that they must vote twice this election year. Your first vote is to primary career RINO incumbents in federal and state governments. Your second vote is to replace outgoing Democrats and RINOs with Trump-endorsed patriot candidates.
Again, insights welcome.
How many more busses will they have to put in service to offset the pollution caused by this blaze???

Another EV ticking time-bomb goes off
If and only when 100% of ALL Public Employee’s, including all elected officials and judges and officers of the court do it, with severe criminal and civil penalties for non compliance.
While on duty as a Police Officer I saw a vehicle ignite inside a Concrete Multi-Level Parking Garage. Now in this Parking garage the management stressed the number of parking spaces so the space between vehicles is barely enough for person to open their door and exit.
Anyway the Vehicle fire began in the front and it was going good.We used three CO2 Extinguishers in the attempt to put the fire out but since the fire was burning so strong we couldn’t get the vehicles hood up.
We finally had to get to the rear of the vehicle to push it out of its parking space to prevent the nearby vehicles from also joining the fire.
These electric vehicles should not be allowed in Multi-leval parking garages unless there’s a minimum of six feet between them. Once those Batteries ignite all bets are off. It takes a lot of water to extinguish those fires once they’re started.
It was such a wonder of modern technology that it was designed to burst into flames only if no one was in it!
Just go back to tax payers for more money. Problem solved.
send em to Germany to heat their homes this winter coz they aint got no propane.
Fire weakens concrete.
A multi story parking garage should be off limits as it could cause it to collapse......................
A few years back, a certain model of Audi as banned from parking garages for starting up all by itself and crashing thru the walls...............
but is the thing ever really turned off ?

It's funny how we usually refer to an electric propulsion device as a "motor" and a gas or diesel propulsion device as an "engine", although sometime the things in cars are known as "motors".
