Electric busses/autos don’t have ‘engines’ — they are propelled by motors.

It's funny how we usually refer to an electric propulsion device as a "motor" and a gas or diesel propulsion device as an "engine", although sometime the things in cars are known as "motors".

Unless you manually start your engine with a hand crank, all cars for decades have had motors in them. You know, the starter motor. It runs off the battery, and cranks the engine for you.
