Is it time to move on from Trump? Or is DeSantis in need of more seasoning?
Elon Musk recently declaring that we need to move on from President Donald Trump is the latest example of chatter I have noticed lately on the news and conservative blogs about why we need to do an about-face to Governor Ron DeSantis as our presidential nominee in 2024.
The question is whether this conversation is from the people or manufactured by Deep State operatives.
As of the writing of this piece, Trump has not officially declared whether he's even going to seek the nomination in 2024, but you wouldn't know that from all the hand-wringing. So, for now this is just a hypothetical comparison.
First, I am a big Governor DeSantis fan. He is showing what strong state leadership looks like and how it is possible to constitutionally resist a tyrannical federal government. DeSantis has been a profile in courage, toughness, sensibility, and even love as he stands for the citizens of Florida. He is the living embodiment of a patriotic executive.
Governor DeSantis has what it takes to be president and would likely be an effective leader of the free world...but not in 2024. DeSantis needs to stay in Florida for now, build on the gains he has made for that state, and instill the habit in the minds of Floridians of what normal governance looks like. This, so they don't screw up and elect another politician in the vein of Charlie Christ or Andrew Gillum (Florida really dodged a bullet with that clown).

In your opinion.. I think it would be.
He would flow from experienced gov to prez. What’s the push
Do you happen to know how Todd Rokita got launched? I know someone who went to school with him that can’t believe he ever made it this far. So I was wondering if his family was well connected
Trump
If Trump wants it he’s got it, if he declines DeSantis gets it.
After hearing this interview I was impressed beyond belief.
The guy for our times is Eric Prince.
The Shawn Ryan Interview, Navy Seal to Navy Seal, a three hr listen, change the listening speed to 1.5x
He'd never get the slot after what they did to BlackWater. That is a **d Damn Shame...
Trump deserves the second term that was stolen from him.

Having a perfect potential VP means absolutely nothing if you don’t win the election.
That’s all I’m saying.
They should team-up. This would be unbeatable in a fair election. That being said, Trump needs to (at the very least) stop touting the vax-rollout as a success. What he really needs to do is the mea culpa that he was bamboozled on it and to acknowledge that it’s a tool of a dastardly democide and those responsible will pay dearly. But we all know this will not happen.
Trump can’t get out of his own way and pivot to rehabilitate his image so he can win again in 2024.
Despite the drama, I would chose Trump between the two today. The self evident conspiracy to keep Trump out of the 2024 election is a betrayal of the People. Let US decide if he should succeed Biden. Trust US that make that choice.
“I really don’t want to see a Trump-Desantis fight.“
But the American Thinker does, and you just helped them spread their propaganda.
This is correct. DeSantis cannot leave Florida. As stated, he almost lost to a drug addict pervert, Gillum, in the last election. Since then, tens of thousands of Democrats have moved in to the State to enjoy its freedoms while still voting Democrat. I was born and raised in Florida and have a home there I visit frequently and therefore I keep a close watch to what is going on.
Trump in 2024 and DeSantis in 2028.
All this is manufactured drama. DeSantis has repeatedly told everybody close to him that he will not run against Trump.....no matter how desperate the neverTrumpers and Democrats are that he do exactly that. They are terrified of the wrath of Trump. They know no Democrat can beat him.
It still doesn’t get DeSantis to the White House.
3. DeSantis retains Glenn Youngkin’s voters. Add Virginia and he’s got 272.
I didn’t see it that way. He made obvious mistakes in handling the narrative of racial tensions, his covid response (which he admits could’ve been better at messaging) and the post election meltdown. Tremendous good happened. Millions of lives were saved, the economy weathered the lockdown, the Abraham accords, etc. He weathered the bogus first impeachment fine.
I think it’s the post election mess that will undermine his time as POTUS. It’s Trump being Trump. He was always his best asset and worst enemy. I would roll the dice with Trump for a second presidency before I would trust what I’ve seen of DeSantis. He’s a cookie cutter “conservative.” He doesn’t understand why the America First agenda matters. Trump is passionate for America, Americans and American ideals. DeSantis is a politician.
So, we dump Trump for this guy?
So, we dump Trump for this guy?
Just ask Chris Christie -- who was elected TWICE as a Republican (in 2009 and 2013) in one of the most reliably leftist states in the U.S.
Oddly enough, DeSantis' best chance of winning Virginia is to get all those Beltway bureaucrats behind him once they see he is as much an establishment corporate globalist as they are ... hence my prior comment that the last thing we need is another Ivy League lawyer in the White House who has never worked outside government in his life.
Good lord -- you must be joking. That guy is the personification of a corporate globalist.
