Menstrual events can have tricky occurrences. If vaccinations can trigger menstrual intensity, so do other occurrences.

These women are experiencing Menstrual Synchrony where close friends get their periods at the same time. The phenomenon was dubbed "the McClintock effect" and is widely held as the first example of pheromones—unconscious chemical signals that influence behavior and physiology—among humans. The real truth is women's menstrual cycles can be unpredictable and only seem to synchronize--just as increased flow is triggered by vaccinations. As such, menstruation just randomly phases in and out of synchrony over the months as their cycles diverge and converge.

These were cataclysmic glacial lake outburst floods that swept periodically across northern Idaho, eastern Washington and down the Columbia River Gorge to the Pacific Ocean at the end of the last ice age. These floods were the result of periodic sudden ruptures of ice dams on the Clark Fork River that created Glacial Lake Missoula. After each ice dam rupture, the waters of the lake would rush down the Clark Fork and the Columbia River, flooding much of eastern Washington and the Willamette Valley in western Oregon. After the lake drained, the ice would reform, creating Glacial Lake Missoula again.

During the last deglaciation that followed the end of the Last Glacial Maximum, geologists estimate that a cycle of flooding and reformation of the lake lasted an average of 55 years and that the floods occurred several times over the 2,000-year period between 15,000 and 13,000 years ago. U.S. Geological Survey hydrologists have found evidence of at least twenty-five massive floods; estimates of discharge ranged from 10 to 60 cubic kilometers per hour (13 times that of the Amazon River at the low end) and maximum water flow speed approached 80 mph.

Thank God for the floods! They left behind some mighty gorgeous scenery just a few miles north of us. For perspective, those mountains were buried under a mile of ice during the last ice age!
