Sunspot THREE TIMES the size of Earth is facing directly at our planet, sparking fears that it could release blackout-causing solar flares in the near future

A massive sunspot has been spotted on our sun that looks directly at Earth

The sunspot doubled in size over just a 24-hour period

Experts say it could possibly send out medium-class flares in the near future.

A dark sunspot that is facing directly toward Earth doubled in size in just a 24-hour period and could possibly send out medium-class flares in the near future.

Tony Phillips, the author of SpaceWeather.com, wrote on Wednesday: ‘Yesterday, sunspot AR3038 was big. Today, it's enormous.’

And it is now said to measure three times the size of Earth.

Sorry. As I said earlier, I’m relying on SQUIRRELS for my weather data. ;)

But, looks like you might be right about us climbing out of it, now:

Global Cooling? NOAA Confirms ‘Full-blown’ Grand Solar Minimum

September 5, 2020 By NEWS WIRE

The signs are clearer than ever. The Sun is heading into a new “solar minimum” cycle now.

Despite loud claims in recent decades that man-made CO2 is somehow driving the Earth’s climate, history and science demonstrate that the largest and most influential driver of planetary climate is actually the Sun.

NASA data shows clearly that sunspot counts and solar flares are dropping which is a clear indicator that solar activity is receding slightly, which means that the Earth’s climate will change, only it won’t be getting warmer.

One known indicator of solar activity is the presence of sunspots. When they are high in number, the solar activity is stronger. When sunspots are few, then we’re more likely to see slightly less solar intensity. The last peak in sunspot activity was in 2014, and now we’ve reached a new low point in 2020.

NOAA (who’s solar forecasts generally come out higher than NASA’s) say it won’t be until mid-2025 before we see the peak of the next Solar Cycle (25), with the maximum topping out at 114.6 sunspots.

If you want to reinforce your doom-and-gloom, Edgar Allen Poe orthodoxy that you’re going to die an awful, lingering death with worms crawling out your eyeballs, read the Daily Mail.

You couldn’t be more wrong if you tried. The sun has a 27 to 35 day rotational period. I know science is hard and racist too. The earth obviously takes 365.25 days to complete it’s today rotation around the sun rotates in the same direction that earth’s orbital path moves so as to counteract it to some degree. The sun is rotating faster than earth is progressing in it’s orbital direction the net effect is that sun spots track from left to right relative to earth and our view of the sun’s face it will be a week or so for the spot to move off axis with earth’s orbital position.
