White House aides are leaving the administration before the fall midterms as one top official said that many staffers are simply 'tapped out.'
The Hill Newspaper reported Thursday on the burnout being felt inside 1600 Pennsylvania Ave., as President Joe Biden has had to deal with a pandemic, a war, rising inflation, a baby formula shortage, among other things, after 17 months in office, and for some staff, a year or more on the campaign trail.
'It's been a long few years,' the official told the Hill. 'The burnout is real. It might not be the ideal time to leave with everything going on, but it's the right time.'
The source explained it's better to get out in the early summer months before campaigning for the fall midterms begins in earnest.
'And then you're really locked in,' the official told the newspaper.
There have already been a handful of high-profile departures like White House press secretary Jen Psaki and Director of the White House Office of Public Engagement Cedric Richmond, who moved over to the Democratic National Committee.
This week, White House counsel Dana Remus said she would be moving on next month.
She'll be replaced by her No. 2, Stuart Delery, who was the No. 3 at the Justice Department during the Obama administration.
A number of aides in the White House press shop left to go to other corners of the government around the time of Psaki's exit including Amanda Finney, Michael Gwin, Michael Kikukawa and Vedant Patel.
And there's going to be at least one high-profile addition.
Former Atlanta Mayor Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms will join the West Wing, taking Richmond's place as a senior adviser for public engagement, Axios first reported.

“Long” is right. Feels like Biden has been president for an eternity, but it’s only been seventeen months.
Yes, destroying America as she was founded is long, arduous and tiring work. Time for some new blood on the eve of our destruction.
.
A War?
All they did was ask for Billions upon Billions, and the Congress raced out to add more money and approve it.
The War is total BS.
They’ve had no hard questions on anything, really.
This doesn’t pass the smell test.
That’s total BS. They don’t do a thing. They don’t get asked, because everyone that asks is in on it. In on what? The destruction of Christianity in America, by each and every possible angle. The destruction of our currency, the destruction of our military, the destruction of our educational system, the destruction of our borders, the destruction of our laws, the destruction of our faith, the destruction of our fathers. What did I miss?
Sorry boys and girls, but real life is not The West Wing where your liberal idiocies work out. In real life your policies are disasters. Welcome to real life. F’in imbeciles
It only feels that way.
Destroying the country deliberately is hard work.
Yeah, well of course. When poll after poll after poll shows near disdain for this President, the idiotic policies, etc., I’d ‘tap out’ too......kekw
81 million alleged voters.
Thank them.
Pray for them.
If you can find one these days......
rats clambering to jump off a sinking ship. How utterly delightful.
Agreed, what war? Biden and Harris surrendered in Afghanistan and Iraq, and have stuck their noses in the Russian and Ukraine Civil War.
What getting out before midterms hits the news cycle means for them, is that they will not be seen as abandoning Biden during the midterms. I expect some who are leaving now are going to lie low from politics until after the midterms and get back in the game for 2024.
Only useful idiots would ever want to work for such useful idiots who are in the White House right now and even they do not want to work for them.
Because destroying America really can be very tiring.
“Long few years?” Well I am sure it feels that way for them.
It will be a monumental task finding people more incompetent than the ones they’re going to replace.
It could be worse for him. At least there's no shortage of Depends... yet. ;-)
Rats jumping ship……. I they all fall into the rising ocean and drown.
——What did I miss?——
Well, I will argue that there is not really a “them”. Rather, there are radical issue cliques that are continuously vying for supremacy within the White House. The President is not capable of creating administrative unity because he simply has no leadership talent.
The result is the fact there is no coordinated policy. There is a series of disjointed and un connected efforts to pomote the various leftist agendas. The staff is tired of no results from the long hours of beating their heads against the wall
The president is however in charge.Biden knows only one way to solve problems...... throw money at it.
You missed GULAGS.
