From the Handyman channel on youtube. 2 years old but a good one. First 5 minutes, he "installs" a smoke detector and makes $125. Hard work right? ;)

2nd "work" he has to swipe a sink garbage disposal. According to a handyman dude I know of, Handyman is correct..there mostly is a rat or disgusting underneath there LOL

If there’s not an iPhone app for it people are lost now. Sad.

“That’s why being dependable is so important”

That’s 95% “the thing”. Where we live, the contractors are crooks and flakes as a rule. When you’re able to find one who does show up, doesn’t lie to you, and does excellent work that’s a phone number you hold on to like grim death.

Mike Rowe gets it
If our country cannot repair or build things,
Then we are toast

people loved President Trump because he had respect for blue collar workers

My nephew is like that, he has his own business and is fully licensed and insured. He’s $125 an hour, and he’s booked well into 2023.

As cars get smarter the mechanics get dumber and repair bills get higher.

Clinton also. Turned every trade and voc school into a COLLEGE so he could say that college enrollment increased under his watch.

Hard to even find trade school. Years ago it was part of HS option. Who the heck do they think is going to fix stuff when it breaks? Crying shame. They make essential trades seem second class and most certainly is not

We were never his base.

The Bush family is Deep State.

And they are loyal to Deep State to the core.

We discovered a painter as a referral from a neighbor. He’s not cheap, and he’s booked 6 months out...but he’s dependable and a veritable Michelangelo with a paint brush. Meticulous, organized and quick. Last job, he did our den, sunroom and garage. These were not small jobs individually, with lots of windows, stained woodwork, paneled walls in the garage, etc. He realized he’d failed to schedule in one room in his long-term planning. He fixed that by working the weekend to catch up. He’s a keeper.

Yup, nice truck, the right appearance, gift of gab and knowing how to price and do the job.

And these days, everyone expects you to have a youtube channel and/or facebook page so you have to know how to work those.

Successful market gardeners all do this.

You and your family should be proud!

When I was interviewing contractors for a new addition, I started with a list of 10. The one we hired showed up every time and if he was going to be five minutes late, he called. The others ... not. His subs were similar.

The project went like clockwork and we were so impressed as we had been in TN for only four months. We assumed all contractors here would be the same. Basically, we lucked out, or God had a hand in it (probably the latter).

The contractor moved away and it’s almost impossible to get someone to show up for the smallest thing, much less a build or remodel. At least we had that.

One of my boys is an aerospace engineer.

He worked two summers for a friend of mine who is a remodeling contractor gaining real hands on skills.

Other son is a trucker.

The front air dam on my daughters car came loose on the highway last week. She fixed it with a paper clip she found on the ground. The fix lasted long enough to get to the store and buy some cable ties.
