You can't tune into Morning Joe nowadays without hearing it trumpeted that somewhere between 85-90% of Americans want more gun-control laws.
But over on CNN, Wednesday morning's New Day was telling an inconvenient truth.
Pollster Harry Enten displayed numbers showing that only 36%, barely one-third,of Americans, want more gun control, whereas 54% are satisfied with current laws or want less gun control!

For my sins, I monitor New Day on CNN and Morning Joe on MSNBC.
Since the new management has taken over at CNN, there has definitely been a move at CNN away from the hard left. Sure, they still tilt hard to port, but they are much more balanced than hard-left Morning Joe.

Pushing gun control when it is clear that the vast majority of people do not want gun control is “a threat to our democracy”.
CNN would much rather see the age of consent lowered.

The numbers make sense. Harry Enten is usually an impartial number cruncher. 36% seems right, I am a bit surprised it is not higher.
