Flooding the place with arms and tens of billions of aid just prolongs the conflict and delays the inevitable (in my opinion).
I'm not condoning Russia's invasion or land grab just saying supporting Ukraine is futile unless you want to send in hundreds of thousands of troops and be at war with Russia something nobody wants....

Russia is wrong, and Putin is a war criminal. That being said, this is not a US problem. It’s an EU problem. This ain’t 1945 anymore. Europe is rich. Let them meet in Brussels or wherever, and decide what to do - using their own money.

I have no idea what we are hearing from Ukraine is the truth, one day we hear Ukraine is kicking ass, now we hear that Russia is on the verge of victory. Whatever is the truth eventually we will know, probably in next couple of months.
I think whatever the truth is, Mark Levine probably doesn’t know any more than any of us about what is going on.
I think we will start to hear calls that Russia must be stopped, meaning direct US Military involvement in Ukraine, which would be catastrophically bad for everyone.

....I believe it was America’s own home-grown philosopher, the great Mark Twain, who said (in so many words...) that as for most things in life, believe nothing of what you hear and only half of what you see......this whole Ukraine situation is shrouded in the fog of war...and we are sending them not $40 billion but I believe the true figure is closer to $60 billion if not more...but, not to worry, Lockheed Martin, Raytheon, all the companies that profit off of war and who make the bombs, bullets, beans, and, yes, body bags, will do nicely....

I understand where you’re coming from but if you REALLY want to defend Ukraine then you need to consent to 100,000+ troops going there and fighting the Russians.
I dont think ANYONE wants a proper war with Russia and to properly defend (liberate?) the Ukraine.
