A Congressional hearing on abortion access grew heated on Wednesday when Republican Rep. Mike Johnson of Louisiana demanded a gynecologist give her stance on performing the procedure when an infant is 'halfway out of the birth canal.'
The doctor shot back that she could not even 'fathom' such a scenario, adding as a comparison: 'Just like you probably can't imagine what you would do if your daughter was raped.'
The House Judiciary Committee is hearing from a panel of experts including Dr. Yashica Robinson, a board-certified OB-GYN and a board member with Physicians for Reproductive Health, as tensions mount over the Supreme Court potentially overturning the landmark 1973 decision Roe v. Wade.
The hearing was conducted to contemplate the future of abortion rights and legislation if the court's final decision goes the way of the leaked draft in the coming months.
It was suggested the high court's conservative supermajority is poised to overturn federal abortion protections granted in the case, according to a leaked draft opinion written by Justice Samuel Alito.
During the hearing Johnson prefaced his question to Robinson, the only medical doctor on the panel, by saying she would 'clearly support the right to abort a 20 week old unborn child.'
'So I would love for you to explain to us, in your medical opinion, at what point in pregnancy should having an abortion no longer be an option?' the conservative asked.
Robinson explained that 'every pregnancy is unique and different' and that 'patients need to have access to care' on a case-by-case basis.
Johnson cut her off, 'Let me let me ask you - do you support the right of a woman who's just seconds away from birthing a healthy child to have an abortion?'

You see what this gynecologist is doing? She is saying that abortion is birth control. In her mind, when a woman gets raped, she has nine months to decide to use birth control (all the way until the child is coming out of the vagina).

Late term abortions are beyond murder. Babies can be saved at very young ages these days. One can deliver a premie and put the baby in NICU to save the mother’s life.
The baby does NOT have to be killed to end the pregnancy.
Ok. There are several issues we have to consider as a society when a baby is conceived through rape.
1. The woman is not at fault.
2. The baby is not at fault
3. The rapist should be punished
4. The woman has these choices, one unacceptable if we grant that the one in her womb is a baby:
A) Kill the baby ( unacceptable )
B) Be a mother to the baby. That would be very noble of her.
C) Refuse to be the mother as she never consented to be pregnant. In this case, we should facilitate for the ADOPTION of the baby to a loving family. There are more families in the USA willing to adopt than we realize.
Unfortunately, option C is seldom taken into consideration nowadays. 😒😔

Do women who are raped actually wait to learn if they are pregnant? Assuming a woman would be seeking medical care because she was raped and reporting the rape to the police, as part of her care would she not be eligible for an immediate morning after pill or an immediate D & C as a preventative measure?
