Connecticut U.S. Sen. Richard Blumenthal has decades in public office, but Republicans in this Democratic-leaning state still see an opportunity to win a U.S. Senate seat after a roughly 30-year drought.

Republicans are touting Themis Klarides, the former GOP leader in the state House of Representatives, as a formidable challenger with the best chance of capitalizing on the strong national headwinds facing Democrats this election year.

Doable? You tell me. She's been critical of Trump but it's New England. I'd settle for another Susan Collins but not another Lincoln Chaffee. The key is butts in the 100 seats. Could be a bridge too far but November will be a wave only if we win a couple of blue state senate seats.

Taking back a couple of red state senate seats which the RINOs lost in their take out Trump at all costs gambit would also help.

I’d settle for another Susan Collins...

Is it her approval (has said she’ll vote FOR 😡) of pedo enabler Ketanji Jackson Brown that you’re okay with??

I would love to see Da Nang Dick replaced by a normal person. But Blue Menthol has been around a long time and the democrats fight dirty.

Sorry about the link. It’s on newsman. Guess you have to type it in.

Dear Jane-the alternative is DaNang Dick. Guess his vote would you?

After some arm wrestling, yes.

But, this candidate should be a NO, by every R.

Even the RINOS.

I bet his campaign rallies start with “Still in Saigon” blaring from the speakers.

The fact that she is going after Sue’em all Blumenthal is a good sign.

If she runs a smart race she can pin him down and not allow him to play Santa Claus by giving money to rats in close races,

She can make a great contribution to the overall effort.

I don’t see her winning.

But on the downside her campaign could wake the Connecticut rats up and that might be bad for down ballot Republicans

that might have been able to sneak by while the rats slept their way through the election cycle.

We will know more about her chances by June.

Nutburger Blumenthal will probably claim he was in combat in the Ukraine recently.

A good point. Anyone who runs and makes the rats work harder for their wins is a team player in my book. Think of the Governors in Md./Vt.-add Sununu. All could make a difference. These are the real RINO’s. Then there’s Sununu. It shows they’re out for themselves and to hell with the party. Then there’s the entire Bush klan voting for Hillary. Makes me sick.

True. She’s going to be on the Supreme Court anyway. Susan might as well say no.

For some damned reason I’ve lived in CT for more than sixty years. Doing something rational politically seems as likely as palm trees in Hartford. CT will consistently elect idiots to any office.

BTW, Connecticut has elected the ugliest white woman in history. If you don’t believe me and you didn’t just eat, Google Rosa DeLauro. The purple hair is the least of her problems

Da Nang Dick, the stolen valor senior Sinator from Connecticut. One of the most evil scumbags to have ever served in office (and that’s quite a distinction, too).
