Amy Schumer implied she was stepping away from her active career for a 'month' break as she shared an Instagram snap with her son Gene on Thursday morning.
The 40-year-old comedian wrapped her arms around her two-year-old little one in the peaceful photo, and wrote: 'Out of office reply for the next month. Thanks.'
Her latest post follows a social media share on Wednesday morning where she admitted she was 'still triggered and traumatized' by the 'disturbing' moment when Will Smith stormed onto the stage and slapped Chris Rock during Sunday night's 94th annual Academy Awards ceremony.
Amy followed up her restful post with another snap of the pair shared to her stories, and wrote 'OOO next month' across the shot.
Smith, 53, sent shockwaves around the world when he slapped Rock, 57, after the comedian made a bald head joke about Will's wife, Jada Pinkett Smith, who has spoken about losing her hair due to alopecia.

I get traumatized every time I see her face or hear about her.
She sort of reminds me of Chuck Schumer. Both are very traumatizing figures.
The yuck factor is through the roof with them.
TPI NOT WWP
Imagine someone like Bette Davis or Dinah Shore or Betty Grable or Ginger Rogers or other actresses of that time doing something like that in the midst of World War II because they were traumatized? They did things like USO tours and served soldiers at the Hollywood Canteen.

When I first read it I thought it said ‘mouth’ break.
Oh well. Too bad đ

Amy Schumer Turns Oscars Monologue Into A Roast With Incest Jokes and Leonardo DiCaprio Burns
By Liz Kocan @lizburrito Mar 27, 2022 at 9:05pm
When Oscars co-host Amy Schumer took the stage for her solo monologue at tonightâs ceremony, she was full of self-deprecation, starting out by saying, âIâm Amy Schumer, or as they know me in Hollywood, âMelissa McCarthy said no.'â But she didnât just tell jokes at her own expense. Schumer was then given the floor on her own to discuss the eveningâs nominees, and spared no feelings in a hilarious monologue where she called out the nominated actors, directors, and films.
As she scanned the room, she pointed out the eveningâs attendees and congratulating them for their work. âDuring a raging pandemic, you made a movie, give yourselves a hand, thatâs incredible, you did it!â she told those in the audience. âAnd yetâŚthey werenât all great. A lot of them were pretty hard to understand, you know who you are, I didnât see many⌠any of of them. I didnât see them. I have a toddler so I just watched Encanto 190 times.â (Same, girl.)
âInspirational, isnât it? After years of Hollywood ignoring womensâ stories, we finally got a movie about the incredible Williamsâ sistersââŚdad,â she deadpanned, before rolling into a joke about the nightâs hottest couples. âWill, Jada, what a beautiful couple. Weâre honoring a lot of couples here tonight, actually. Jada and Will Smith. Penelope and Javier Bardem. Maggie and Jake Gyllenhaal. A night for lovers!â Schumer joked as the camera held on the Gyllenhaal⌠siblings.
Schumer saved some of her best jokes for Adam McKayâs Donât Look Up, saying, âDonât Look Up is nominated. I guess the Academy members donât look up⌠reviews.â (McKay seemed fully on-board with the jokes at his filmâs expense as the camera panned to him.) Mentioning the filmâs star Leonardo DiCaprio, she said, âLeonardo DiCaprio, what can I even say about him? Heâs done so much to fight climate change and leave behind a cleaner greener planet⌠For his girlfriends.â (It was a solid joke, but seems not to actually be that original, unfortunately.)
Schumer also took a swing at Aaron Sorkinâs Being The Ricardos, the Nicole Kidman-Javier Bardem film about Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz. âAaron Sorkin: a genius! Truly, right? I mean, the innovation to make a movie about Lucille Ball without even a moment thatâs funny? Not your fault, Nicole,â Schumer said to Kidman, who was laughing in the audience. make it funnyâŚâ she started, adding, âIf youâre Aaron Sorkin, how do you make a movie about the most iconic female comedian, not one laugh. Itâs brilliant! Itâs like making a biopic about Michael Jordan and just showing the bus trips between games.â
Next time, maybe Sorkin can call Amy to punch up his scripts.
Boo hoo. Send her to Ukraine.
Hope she doesnât roll over and flatten him.
Jim Carrey has now announced his retirement. Unclear whether it is because of the behind the scenes problems with speaking out and bashing all those people giving Smith a standing ovation or because he is getting bashed for forcing a kiss on a 19 year old actress at an award ceremony. He also tried to kiss Will Smith
Amy Schumer Horrified To Learn You Can Now Get Slapped For Bad Jokes (the Bee does it again!!)
https://freerepublic.com/focus/f-chat/4050643/posts
Sheâs a comedian?
“Get back up there, fellas, and keep slapping until she retires.”
LOL!!! Post of the day!
The jokes in her monologue are all the classic sorts of put-downs one hears at events like this. Some of hers were much snarkier than Chris Rock’s joke about Jada’s hair.
I’d call her a drama queen, but she’s not a man so she’s not a legitimate woman.
Drama Queen. Playing it for the headlines.
That’s not that unusual..or shouldn’t be
But taking pictures,of what is a private occasion, and showing it to the general public feels a little weird.
Now her kid owes will smith a slap
I wish Norm MacDonald were still alive to give us his thoughts on Amy Schumer’s latest attention-seeking stunt. He was so good at bashing her.
What a low-rent, fat back, nasty trash-ass skank. Nasty, filthy ‘jokes and skits’ and bragged about her abortions and THEN she finds some guy to knock her up and she’s Mother Teresa all-of-a-sudden. Cousin of Chuck-you Schumer.... nuff said.
