In a truly shocking moment, Will Smith just smacked Chris Rock in the face after the comedian made a joke about Jada Pinkett Smith at The Oscars.
Chris was up on stage Sunday presenting for Best Documentary, but before he started naming the nominees ... he was firing off zingers to the crowd, and eventually landed on Will and Jada Pinkett Smith.
Chris made a comment about Jada's shaved head ... saying he couldn't wait to see 'G.I. Jane 2' -- which got some groans from the crowd, to which he just sorta shrugged off.
Chris didn't think he'd crossed a line, but Will clearly did ... because he stormed the stage and literally socked the dude in the face. A stunned Rock exclaimed, "Wow. Will Smith just smacked the #### outta me."
The American broadcast on ABC muted, and even froze, but in other countries it continued ... and Will shouted "Keep my wife's name out your #### mouth" twice to Chris.
Chris eventually gained his composure again and carried on with handing out the Oscar, but the room was left tense with a sense of unease.

I always liked Chris Rock. I never liked Will Smith. After seeing this I see no reason to change my opinion.
Very true, and I thought about that, but I just don’t see it that way with Hollywood. Not with the things these two put out about their private lives.
And if it’s real, Chris Rock will go broke for making fun of Alopecia, and the bald Disney princesses with cancer.
Everything is play-acting, narcissism, and getting ratings.
And the FCC will continue to lower their standards. It’s not the same people running the industry or country 30 years ago.
i just foudn a super slow mo- and even slowed it down more by advancing frame by frame- it is clearly a hollywood brushing fingertip slap that glances down and under the chin- i see this all the time in movies- watching in real time, and hearing the dubbed in sounds, it looks and sounds real=- but slowed down, you can see they clearly try not to hurt the other person- (though sometimes they miscalculate and do smack the person- one actor knocked another out during shooting lol)

exactly- if he was that ‘incensed’ at rock over the comment- it wouldn’t have been a finger slap- Cris also didn’t even bother bracing for another ‘blow’ which you woudl think that someone who just got hit woudl do to defend themselves incase it got real ugly-
After Smith smacked Kid Rock, my TV screen went dark with no sound. The gatekeepers didn’t want anything to spoil this event with Black brawlers.

Thanks for the link. I watched the slow mo. It looks to me as if Smith slapped Chris in the jaw...? I read that Chris joked about the Smiths back when they were boycotting the Oscars. Maybe Smith has had a grudge against Chris, and this was the final straw. Or, maybe the whole story has been a set up from the beginning - who knows? But, the Smiths have been behaving ridiculously for years now.
yeah but watch the fingers- keep rewinding by clicking on the timeline at bottom at the 7 second mark- watch it over and over- you can see the fingers swept backwards away from the face instead of straight on for a full on slap-
I mean i suppose it could be real, and he is just a wussy that slaps like that- but being that he is an actor trained to slap like that in movies in order to protect the slapee— makes me think he wasn’t serious about it and that it was a stunt- Even the whole awards group apologizing- could have been to garner more interest in the show- I woudl think that if it had been real he at least, or if was gonna hold back and slap, woudl have cuffed rock upside the face, which is a whole different kind of slap- just my opinion

I see what you mean - fingers bent backward. It’s a Hollywood slap. Maybe Smith wanted to embarrass Chris without hurting him.
At first, Chris reacted as if he thought Smith was joking around - because I guess Chris wasn’t hurt physically at all.
Smith’s yelling obscenities after the slap is what leads me to believe the slap wasn’t a planned stunt.
Watch Smith & Rock later.
1. I would have known that Chris Rock is a professional stand-up comic, and that the joke was of the kind that, e.g., Don Rickles might have delivered. I would have said and done nothing.
2. I would have been steamed but would have said and done nothing. "First Amendment" and all that.
3. I would have been steamed but would have realized that going up on a stage in front of millions of people and smacking someone is beyond the pale.I would have said and done nothing.
4. I would have gone up onto the stage and whispered something in Rock's ear that only he could hear, whereupon Rock would have instantly issued a formal apology.
5. I would have immediately taken my wife and left the show.
6. I would have gone up onto the stage and knocked Rock flat on his kiester and maybe have gone to jail.

These self-obsessed Hollywood types are barely aware of their surroundings. Their thoughts revolve solely around themselves. Maybe she was smiling because she just thought of something nasty and sexy that she would want to try out that evening after the show, with her poodle and a jar of peanut butter.
If I were you, I would not waste my time trying to fathom the true thoughts of self-obsessed Hollywood types - it's like trying to fathom the depth of a mudpuddle.
