exactly- if he was that ‘incensed’ at rock over the comment- it wouldn’t have been a finger slap- Cris also didn’t even bother bracing for another ‘blow’ which you woudl think that someone who just got hit woudl do to defend themselves incase it got real ugly-

you can clearly see the fingers are angled backwards away from the face so that the slap is a brushing slap and not a full contact slap too which likely woudl have hyperextended his fingers if he slapped full on instead of brushing the chin- this is typical of hollywood slaps if you watch movies and go frame by frame- Actors are trained to slap like this- You can see it better in the slow mo video here
