In a truly shocking moment, Will Smith just smacked Chris Rock in the face after the comedian made a joke about Jada Pinkett Smith at The Oscars.
Chris was up on stage Sunday presenting for Best Documentary, but before he started naming the nominees ... he was firing off zingers to the crowd, and eventually landed on Will and Jada Pinkett Smith.
Chris made a comment about Jada's shaved head ... saying he couldn't wait to see 'G.I. Jane 2' -- which got some groans from the crowd, to which he just sorta shrugged off.
Chris didn't think he'd crossed a line, but Will clearly did ... because he stormed the stage and literally socked the dude in the face. A stunned Rock exclaimed, "Wow. Will Smith just smacked the #### outta me."
The American broadcast on ABC muted, and even froze, but in other countries it continued ... and Will shouted "Keep my wife's name out your #### mouth" twice to Chris.
Chris eventually gained his composure again and carried on with handing out the Oscar, but the room was left tense with a sense of unease.

Possible but wouldn't explain Will's outburst if this wasn't staged.
Thats all Jadas idea. Will is clearly not comfortable with it.
He even laughed at the joke slightly. I’m sure Jada kicked him then cause she looked pissed. Suddenly Will went onstage to play the outraged black man. If it was acting, it was to show Jada he wasn’t PW’d. JMHO.

I don’t think it was staged, the way Smith was yelling from his seat. He’s already apologizing.
It’s sad that it’s hard to tell if a Hollywood outburst like this is a ‘worked shoot’ (Pro-wrestling talk for staged nonsense) or not.
What would explain it if it was staged? Smith and Rock got together and asked each other “What can we do that will make black people and the AAs look bad?”

Chris Rock didn’t even put his hand to his face after being hit, and held his hand behind his back, before and after.

This is staged. Chris Rock is a loudmouthed douche, and if it were real, he’d be screaming up a storm and then some.
Nuh-uh. It doesn’t look like Jada was in on it, but if she was, she feigned disgust extremely well.
Bisexual swingers. It ain’t exactly Ozzie and Harriet in the Smith household.
it was BS- a hollywood slap- nothing more- actors are trained to do ‘hollywood punches’ where they don’t even contact the person- that look like a very typical hollywood slap-
Did will get arrested for assault? Nope- not that i know of- Mr tough guy aint gonna risk gettign arrested for assault-
the three of them are laughing their butts off over it-
