I remember being grossed out watching a documentary on how the Inuit in the Arctic take birds and put them in a rock cair to rot/ferment. They consider it a delicacy. Then sometime later I learned how Italians make aged prosciutto ham and it is just as gross.
We live in the soup of bacteria, are part of the soup, and will return to the soup. I still eat prosciutto and if I’m ever presented the chance I will try that fermented bird.

Anchovies rank with onions, garlic, curry powder, soy sauce and ground beef as God’s great gifts to cuisine. My wife makes chicken soup every Sunday. She dislikes dark meat so she sets it all aside for me. I make chicken salad with it for lunches during the week. My secret ingredient is McCormick's Curry Powder. Just a half a teaspoon adds that 'right' something. Along with onions, celery and garlic of course. And a spot of sweet relish.

Yes, you know what’s it’s made from. No, don’t know what falls in the vat when it’s being made.

It’s sort of like ‘worsh ter shire’, accent on the ‘worsh’. And I think in pronunciation you can just have the ‘shire’ sound like ‘sir’ - ‘shir’
