Sci-fi films and TV shows have routinely depicted a brutal race of aliens visiting Earth in their spaceships and enslaving unfortunate Earthlings.
But according to one expert, extraterrestrial life may actually be too scared of 'dangerous' and 'violent' humans to want to come here.
Dr Gordon Gallup, a biopsychologist at the University of Albany, argues that humans are 'dangerous, violent and ceaselessly engage in endless bloody conflicts and war'.
For this reason, aliens with the technological capability of making a visit to Earth - if they exist - are likely inclined to stay away for fear of death and genocide, according to Dr Gallup.
No life beyond Earth has ever been found and there is no evidence that alien life has ever visited our planet. But this may be due to extraterrestrial life being too scared of 'dangerous' and 'violent' humans (artist's impression)

Dr Gallup has presented his argument in an open access paper published in the Journal of Astrobiology this month.
'If [alien life] exists it may have found us by now and discovered that humans are dangerous, violent and ceaselessly engage in endless bloody conflicts and war, and continually develop even more powerful weapons of mass destruction,' Dr Gallup says.
'It would also be obvious, that as a byproduct of increasing pollution, habitat destruction, coupled with endless wars, pillage, death, destruction and the desire for conquest, that humans pose an unparalleled and unprecedented risk not only to other life forms on Earth but to life on other planets.'

And he's like "Because they're afraid!! We're warlike and aggressive and they're afraid of us."
If they were capable of finding us in the first place, they can pretty much do whatever they want with us. Or so I would think.
I don't doubt that there are other life forms out there in the universe somewhere. The odds are in favor of it.
However, consider that there are many entities (human entities) who might have what they consider to be a good reason to get large numbers of people to believe they're being watched by spacemen.
Note: This article mentions L Ron Hubbard, the founder of Scientology.
“”Because they’re afraid!! We’re warlike and aggressive and they’re afraid of us.””
Good.
Stay off my lawn.
Some has been watching too much Star Trek.
*stomps foot at alien*
*alien scurries off*
Is this what passes for science?
Maybe they observed the 2020 BLM / Antifa riots and thought “If THIS is what Earthings consider a peaceful protest, let’s get outta here.”
That guy may be onto something. Maybe he saw one of Biden’s press conferences.
The professor dude talks about the “great civilizations” of the Incas and Aztecs.
I always wonder what would have happened if the Incas, Aztecs, or Maya had gotten a nuclear bomb. There probably wouldn’t be a South America anymore.
I wished I could be an expert. That way I could make lots of money making up things and never be responsible for being wrong.
So its not that aliens would put humans on their menu, but humans would put aliens on our menu - got it. Do they taste like chicken?
Fiction for sure
Science..not so much.
Ha. That’s what I always think. But my conscience wouldn’t permit me to do it.
This “expert” knows what aliens are thinking? His idea is one of the stupidest reasons I’ve heard. If they have the technology to cross a hundred trillion or so miles of frozen vacuum to get here, all our nukes are like flea bites compared to what they must have.
Afraid?
No, they are laughing at us....................
They probably don’t taste that bad if you can get the skin off.
You’ve already sabotaged your career as an “expert” by telling the truth.
That is my first thought. A civilization that has mastered interstellar and/or interdimensional travel would probably give us the level of attention and interest that I give an anthill in the woods behind my house.
If it's a fire ant mound that encroaches into my yard, yeah, I would perceive a threat and deal with it appropriately, but otherwise alien technology would probably be as far beyond our scope as my car and computer are beyond the grasp of the ants in the woods.
Civilizations based on evolved organic life are too brief in their existence to have two existing simultaneously in the same galactic neighborhood.
Post-organic artificial intelligence civilizations see no point in screwing around with organic life civilizations.
Star Trek Insurrection...America is a holodeck.
They monitored what Biden did to Corn Pop so they are waiting until Biden is no longer around. Too dangerous to tangle with him.
