So they come across the interstellar distances, can survive just fine for years near us in space studying our broadcasts and understanding us. And they fear us militarily...rather than say for not having any natural immunity to the pathogens in our ecosystem?
To: Salamander
Any ‘’intelligent’’ life out there probably figured a long time ago this was a neighborhood to avoid.

"biopsychologist at the University of Albany, argues that humans are 'dangerous, violent and ceaselessly engage in endless bloody conflicts and war'. For this reason, aliens with the technological capability of making a visit to Earth - if they exist - are likely inclined to stay away for fear of death and genocide,... "Which irrationality is itself a deterrent, as if such technologically advanced life would find physical threats a real challenge, but dealing with the Liberal Mind might be.

Intelligent life may exist but be too SCARED of ... humans to visit Earth, expert claims Ummm...
Yeah, I could see that.

'If [alien life] exists it may have found us by now and discovered that humans are dangerous, violent and ceaselessly engage in endless bloody conflicts and war, and continually develop even more powerful weapons of mass destruction,' Dr Gallup says. We're armed and crazy all of you kumbay-aliens.

An interesting take on the alien invasion theme is the short story "The Road Not Taken" by Harry Turtledove. Interstellar travel is so easy someone in the iron age could do it but we just missed it somehow. Aliens attacked us with matchlock muskets. A few were skilled enough to get off a second shot, but not many.

“If there are aliens observing us, their technology could be 1.000 or 5,000 years more advanced than ours. They have little to be scared regarding their own safety. They may be simply curious and want to observe our behavior the way we might observe a species of monkey.”
I know I would not want to directly interact when the world was full of Dinosaurs... Could be similar. lol

I’m not sure I would want to interact with a world of monkeys considering chimps’ propensity to rip off fingers, faces and genitals. It’s a madhouse!

Think about it...the journal he wrote for is based on on a subject that doesn’t exist at present. Like a journal on Centaur morphology. One thing for sure, there is little intelligence in the viewpoint. Just speculation.
Anyway his idea is an old one. OUT OF THE SILENT PLANET by C.S. Lewis briefly mentions it as the mindset of the extraterrestrials.
