Aldis Ad for Corned Beef "Sale" Reveals Bidenflation
Self | February 19, 2022 | PJ-Comix

Every year I stock up on Aldis point cut corned beef which is ALWAYS on sale in the weeks leading up to St. Patrick's Day for only $1.99/lb. It's been $1.99/lb for years including this time last year when it went on sale.

So today I got a sneak peek at an Aldis ad which you can see below and that same product is now $2.99/lb. A full 50% increase. Yet another example of Bidenflation. I was hoping to score it again for the low price of previous years but thanx to mush for brains that corned beef is now apparently a full buck per pound HIGHER.

If you have a pressure canner.

You cut it into pieces and do a raw pack into a pint jar to the shoulder. Do not press down just drop the pieces in until the jar is full. Add water leaving one inch head space.

Wipe the tops with vinegar to get any grease off. Put on lid and screw top, finger tighten.

Pressure can at 15 for 75 minutes.

It is really simple. I can almost everything except chicken.

I’m intrigued by all of the Crofton serveware. :-)

(Had never heard of it, before.)

Ugh....last time I canned chicken....it turned into a big mess.

Beef is much easier, imo.

Wouldn’t the pressure and time amounts depend on altitudes? Or, it’s the same, regarding location?

Thx.

That is why I do not can chicken.

But I can beef, pork, venison and occasionally, fish.

And the answer is PJ lives at sea level.

You would have to live pretty high to need to change the numbers. It is all a bit more then needed but I prefer to over rather then under do.

Thanks.

Curious...how long (how many years) will the canned meat last?

(I have some that probably need to be pitched 😱)

The best by date is generally one year according to the books.

But... as long as you pressure canned and the seal is still good and there is nothing growing in it I have eaten stuff that is five years old without problem.

Any older and I would probably feed it to the pig.

Recycling at it's finest. :)

There have been canned goods found in the wrecks of old steamboats that traveled the rivers of the US 100+ years ago. The food inside was still good.

If the seal is intact, and the food looks and smells ok when you open it, then it should still be good. Heat it up thoroughly before eating, just to be sure.

Yes.

It cooks in the jar.

If you want it browned you can do that when you dump it out of the can.
