SiriusXM PGA Tour host Mark Lye made inappropriate comments about the WNBA on the air Saturday and was fired by the end of the weekend.
“You know the LPGA Tour, to me, is a completely different tour than it was 10 years ago,” Lye said Saturday on PGA Tour Radio. “You couldn’t pay me to watch. You really couldn’t, because I couldn’t relate at all. It’s kind of like, if you were a basketball player, and I’m not trashing anybody, please don’t take it the wrong way.
“I saw some highlights of ladies’ basketball. Man. Is there a gun in the house? I’ll shoot myself [before] I watch that.”

The vast majority of Americans could not name even one WNBA team or one WNBA player. I know I can’t.
Is the WNBA basket lower, with a larger hoop, than the NBA basket and hoop?
Just asking!
Lol. The real problem that the WNBA has is that women won’t watch it.
Went to a couple games with my daughter. About 20% of the crowd were parents like me. The rest lesbians.
I guarantee you will get a blank stare each and every time.
They might also ask you "What is the WNBA?"
Should they be forced to watch it? I’d like to know how many people watch it on TV and live, and what the demographics are. I can see former female college basketball players watching it. I know you are going to laugh, but perhaps men who are attracted to those women. That’s usually a source of viewership for female sports.
The LPGA is more watchable today because there are a number of dollies to balance the lesbians. Also, the best women can hit it straight & far, and they have short games as good as many of the men. The downside lately has been that players from Asian countries, notably Korea, have dominated the tour. That is changing a bit with Americans Nelly Korda and Danielle Kang contending most weeks.
Women’s basketball? Forget it, a disaster. Imus was right, even though it cost him and he felt the need to make groveling apologies.
Watch any WNBA game. Count to 30. You will see a horrible pass, horrible shot, a dribble out of bounds, a dribble off a foot, some kind of silly high school level mistake. Its horrible
An inconvenient truth.
All I know from my unscientific personal survey is that I know a dozen or Jazz fans. Four are women. Not one is the least interested in the WNBA. In fact most are more dedicated Jazz fans than the men.
Geebus, you really can’t say anything anymore. What the heck is wrong with what he said? The WNBA REALLY IS awful. Its a horrible product.
Touchy leftists. I have no desire to watch nappy-headed lesbians. Thank God there is no smell-a-vision for those that do watch.
I would expect the level of play in the WNBA, and the LPGA for that matter, to improve dramatically when the trannies get into it. The money is even better at the pro level than at college and all of the trannies can’t be swimmers.
The Little Sisters of the NBA would fold in a week without subsidies from the big brother league. LPGA has more of a following.
Dang good joke.
Women’s sports in general is not entertainment. It is simply a vanity project.
It was due to his diss. Never ever pissoff the giant amazonian lesbian sport watcher.
I read a while back that one player wanted the government to force the WNBA to pay them the same as the NBA players.
BTW, after their disrespect to veterans and other patriots I won't watch either one of them.
Sportscasters make CNN and MSBNC seem conservative.
