Good morning everyone. I drank a Coca Cola after church services this past Sunday at our get together and it tasted funny. I was wondering if my encounter with Covid some months ago had affected my taste. Then, wifey bought some coke yesterday and it tasted the same as it did Sunday. It doesn't taste like Coke used to taste. Anyone else notice the change?
Other things taste normal to me so was wondering what is going on with Coca Cola. Anyone know if they changed the formula? Is it now Biden Cola?

Coca-Cola just announced changes to its Coke Zero recipe —
and fans of the brand are having flashbacks to the last time
Coke changed its flavor.
In 1985, the company introduced New Coke, an updated recipe
that marked the company’s first formula change in 99 years.
“No coke..... “
Stopped purchasing.
Yes foods/beverages will taste different post Covid.
Coke/pepsi tastes like detergent to my wife now after having the bio weapon illness.
I wouldn’t know. I used to drink Coke, but gave it up when I found out I was too white.
I remember Coke! Do they still make that?
My Cokes taste exactly like Dr. Pepper ever since Coke went woke.
Dear facebook
Maybe the Lord is kindly attempting to wean you off of Coke products. About a year ago Coke, wishing to show how woke they are, issued a statement expressing their regret that so many of their customers are TOO WHITE! No being a trouble maker, nor wishing to cause the Coke folks any further anguish; I swore off of ALL Coke products, whether beverage or food. I’m doing fine. I hope they are, as well.
When I was stationed at Mtn. Home AFB in Mtn. Home, ID, there was a coke machine in our shop that dispensed 10 oz bottles of Coke. We got a mixture of Coke bottled at Boise and at Twin Falls. I drank so much of that Coke that I could tell by taste alone which bottler it came from.
I have 12 original kingsize cokes in the original cartons
Covid taste buds…
I’m a coke fan, but buy RC whenever I see it in stores because it tastes like the Coca Cola of the past and I don’t have to worry if I’m not a person of of color.
Covid has given me the flavor of something akin to liquid smoke with some foods... and Diet Coke is one of them. It’s been slowly improving, though so far I haven’t seen any regression as a result of having (probably) the Omicron variety last week.
I worked at a bottler for a decade. The QC that we had was crazy, and few errors got past us.
We beefed up our water filtration in our plant just to control the taste between summer and winter, when the lakes would turn, and water would taste nasty. But not the water going into the bottling system - it would taste good.
If there seemed to be a change in the flavor of the soda, any change that your sinuses are clogged? That seemed to account for most of the consumer reports that we investigated.
(And we found every mouse that squeezed into a bottle at the glass factory ... before it went out)
I’m a Bar Manager, and COVID-19 Has Permanently Altered My Sense of Taste
https://www.foodandwine.com/chefs/covid19-loss-taste-bar-manager-crown-shy
Seven months after testing positive, aged spirits still taste totally off to me—almost like pineapple made of cardboard.
...As the bar manager at Crown Shy in New York City’s Financial District, my altered sense of taste and smell obviously comes up a lot. Whenever I smell citrus—anything that has either a fake or real citrus quality to it—it just smells like extremely oxidized lemon juice. I have to go through this psychological filtering process to take something that my brain recognizes as repellent and be like, “That’s not really there. Don’t worry about that.”
I’ve talked to other industry folks that temporarily lost their senses due to COVID, and they’re all obviously very excited to have them back, but I don’t know that anyone was like, “Hey, but there’s this weird thing in whiskey now that I smell. It’s this weird thing in bananas that I smell.” That part has been a solo discovery, and now that the restaurants are back open and we’re having a little bit more time to talk to one another in a mask-to-mask setting, we’ve been exchanging information about our experiences more.
Costco has the Mexican kind and I’d guess it’s labeled or the ingredients are on the back.
Also, I found as I passed fifty (which is now so far back I can’t even see it in the rear view) that my taste changed. Things I’d loved, chocolate cake, soft drinks, candy, no longer tasted good. Another possibility is Covid. One of the first symptoms is a change in the sensation of taste.
Go the the Mexican aisle of your grocery store. The usually carry Mexican coca cola. It’s made with real cane sugar instead or the US high fructose corn syrup crap. It tastes like the coca cola from my childhood.
This decades long Coke fiend stopped buying Woka Cola a while back.
If they’ve changed the taste, it’s probably to cater to the customers they have left.
Was it New Old Coke or Old New Coke?
Was it MEXICAN REAL SUGAR Coke or AMERICAN HFCS Coke?
Was it Caffeine Free Coke or Sugar Free Coke ZERO?
Was it ‘The Real Thing’?...............................
Cheerwine all the way
