I believe I captured, pretty succintly, the problems with the bill Schumer is trying to force through the Senate. If anyone has ANY way to get this letter to Manchin or Sinema, this letter may end up confirming to them why they are feeling unease at enabling the bill to become law. It may assist them in making the decisions that would keep America alive as a viable country.
You’re giving them way too much credit. They still support the “voting rights” bill.
The political pendulum always swings. You make a change that gives you more power while you’re in power, you will rue the day when you are out of power and that change is now used against you.
Play the long game, or you will not be playing.
Can you discuss the difference between mail in ballots and absentee ballots? I think people do not understand the differences
The writer mentions Rebuplican “ extremes “ what extremes ? Voter idea, secure borders? Just wondering,
You will recognize certain phrases I borrowed from your post.
You’d think they might have learned from when Harry Reid changed the number needed to approve judges, then along came Trump. Aholes, if they do it, it could bite them in their asses.
Very thoughtful and well written.
Easy enough to get it to them. Each senator’s website should have a fax number or mailing address to send it too.
“I don’t know how,..”
Envelope. Stamp. USPS.

Power corrupts. Absolute power corrupts absolutely. - Lord Acton, UK................
Well stated.
From an anonymous Freeper:
Suggest you print it, put in in an envelope, mail it USPS.
Eventually, after being scanned and sniffed, it will at least arrive at their offices; where some 23-y-o staffer who got to DC via some kind of incestuous political patronage will have an opportunity to peruse it.
Who knows, they might even share it with their senator?
FAX numbers used to be available, but I can’t find them anymore.
These poltroons no longer wish to hear from the public they serve.
If they ever did, they no longer believe ‘government derives its just powers from the consent of the governed.’
I am reminded of Queen Amidala in the Star Wars franchise The Phantom Menace?
“I will not condone a course of action that will lead us to war.”
“I was not elected to watch my people suffer and die while you discuss this invasion in a committee!”
“It is clear to me now that the Republic no longer functions. I pray you will bring sanity and compassion back to the Senate.”
”So this is how liberty dies...with thunderous applause.”
Our country is broken (and broke). https://www.usdebtclock.org/
Worse, our mechanisms of responsible government are broken; deliberation, checks and balances.
As our Founders feared, government no longer serves the people, it serves only itself.
Very excellent post - thank you for the Ping.
I'll be happy to send copies out.
However, considering only the number of trolls we've had on FR, I'd bet we would be astonished at the number of TPTB who at very least monitor FR and especially "certain posters" (including you...but don't blush).
I certainly would. This may *not quite* be a shooting war, but I still don't like surprises.
Just gotta know what the opposition is talking about.
PING.
“I don’t know how, but I would love to see this letter get into the hands of Joe Manchin and/or Kyrsten Sinema.”
Laz, they’ll see it. Good job.
How does Russia or China keep winning elections? What is their cheating modus operandi without voter ID, mail in ballots, and ballot harvesting?
