As with most viral respiratory illnesses, the primary entry point into the human body is through the nose. Once in the nasal passages, viruses propagate exponentially on nasal mucous membranes. With COVID-19, this rapid growth is especially prolific, leading researchers to seek means to decrease the nasal mucosal viral load.
A recent podcast (1) between Joe Rogan and Dr. McCullough that "went viral" mentions this research and makes some recommendations for nasal lavage — salt water and antiseptic options to rinse out the nasal passages. This simple, cheap, and available hygienic maneuver should be added to our therapeutic armamentarium, along with antiseptic gargles.
Probably the most transparently wrong choice that our federal government/CDC/Dr. Fauci/mainstream media made during the past two years has been the desire to shut off, and even demonize, discussions about therapeutic options to treat COVID-19. They did this so we would focus instead on the vaccine as the end-all and be-all "cure." Unfortunately, because COVID-19 is much like other respiratory viruses, mutating too frequently for vaccines to catch up, and because the mRNA "shortcut-to-cure" spike protein–centric vaccine is tremendously less effective than naturally acquired immunity (2), it is past time to focus on therapeutic measures. (Then again, herd immunity from the less deadly omicron variant might make this article moot.)
Part of the reason for all the blow-back from the public about how this plague has been handled is the irrational demonization and politization of available treatment options. We'll never forget the ridicule President Trump received from the mainstream media when he suggested that gargling with a type of bleach could slow down transmission of COVID-19 and even might shorten the illness. It turns out that some dentists have been using sodium hypochlorite for many years for oral pathogens (3), and it helps!

I bought 4 bottles of Xclear nasal spray last summer after reading about how it acts as a cleanser for the nasal canal and this spray they are trying to suppress because it supposedly knocks down the corona virus effects to HALF of its strength if you do get it. So my advice is STOCK up -I got my supply on Ebay or Amazon...
I have been using saline solution or Xlear sinus rinse for years and saline eye wash because of low humidity dry conditions.
Flushing out the nasal airway and sinuses with simple salt water - especially if you have allergies or chronic congestion, or almost any sort of breathing problem - is one of the single most effective means to ensure health and protection from disease.
In yoga there are a couple of other things to keep in mind: Take measures to keep from having to breathe through your mouth; the mouth is for food, the nose is for air. The nose has special filters and traps for things that may compromise breathing.
Practicing pranayama (yoga breathing exercise) is very helpful for keeping the airway clear. It boosts circulation and mental activity - it helps calm the mind, too.
Many people don’t breathe effectively. I used to get sick a lot as a kid; allergies played a big role in that, I think, as well as the fact that my (big) nose has a kink in it. If I practice pranayama for a couple of minutes when my nose is stuffy it works better than Sudafed.
Anyway, thanks for posting that! It’s great advice.
IMHO when you gargle with salt water to treat the sore throat seen in omicron infections, you kill many viruses and disrupt their membranes. By doing so the viral debris that remains is then processed by the immune system. It hastens recovery and may enhance immunity to the more virulent variants known and coming. This is just IMHO.
diluted colloidal silver...
Lol! Therapeutic Armamentarium?? Is that anything like stuff that we could do for ourselves?
Who writes this stuff?
Many doctors don't believe that it works (it's just salt water!), but it does. It decreases the viral load in the nose and washes out the secretions and dead cells. If you can keep from getting very sick even for just a week, that gives your immune system an extra week to get up-to-speed.
I should add: always use boiled water or distilled water in your neti pot. Never use plain tap water.
I was looking at an advanced yoga book, and it showed a picture of a Yogi cleaning his nasal passages with a strip of cloth. One end of the cloth went in one nostril, and the other end out the other nostril, and he could work it back and forth, I guess. The photo was kind of gross.
Been using an electronic nasal irrigator on occasion for years. Used it often when I got the rona. Way better than netti pots or spraying chemicals up the nose.
I used the iodine solution in a netti pot...8oz of distilled water and 2 teaspoons povidone mixed together. Did washout for 30-40 seconds then gargled what remained for 30 sec.
I did that 5 times the day i started feeling sick and the next day i was better. No more sore throat, fever broke that night. I continued that regimen for 3 days and felt fine with no further symptoms except for that first day. Only additional thing i did was peroxide in the ears 2x a day for 3 days.
Sorry, it was going out his mouth. There are pictures of it on the net. It is called Sutra Neti. It still looks gross, though.
I was prepared to make that point if you had not.
I was living in Louisiana when this happened an it was tragic because they were horrific deaths and all too easily preventable:
I use hypertonic saline nasal spray. It sucks the moisture right out of swollen tissues and it seems logical that it would suck viruses out as well.
That's how I clean my ears ;-)
“XLEAR NASAL SPRAY COVID-19: STUDIES CONCLUDE XLEAR KILLS SARS-COV-2 AND EFFECTIVE AGAINST NEW VARIANTS”
https://www.aestheticsadvisor.com/2021/09/xlear-nasal-spray-covid-19-study.html
“An in-vitro study done collaboratively by Utah State University and Northwestern University finds Xlear components (grapefruit seed extract and xylitol) significantly eliminates SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19. The imaging research study component was performed at the BioCryo facility of Northwestern University’s NUANCE Center.”
“First, we conclude, in addition to countering SARS-CoV-2, Xlear is likely effective in preventing the spread of future H1N1 viruses, including the emerging SARS-CoV-2 variants, along with other viral epidemics.”
“GSE (grapefruit seed extract) kills the virus, while the xylitol prevents the virus from attaching to the cell walls.”
KILLS the virus. prevents the virus from attaching to the cell walls.
The company has a study where the patients WITH Covid, were treated ONLY with Xlear and fully recovered in a few days. Major improvement on day 2.
I have it (Xlear NOT Xclear), I use it. I will OD on it if I get Covid.
“The collaborative study concludes: “Because there are no risk factors in using the X/GSE combination therapy, and [Xlear] nasal spray is over the counter available without prescription, and [Xlear] allows for comfortable long term mask wearing, adoption of this preventive anti-viral therapy should be encouraged.””
Zicam nasal swabs also works on covid.
KILL the Rona “where it lives!” In your NOSE!
Where do they test you for Rona? Waaaay up your nose. What else can get Waaaay up your nose? Xlear nasal spray!
Nuff said. Get your TODAY!
I got mine at Amazon a long time ago.
