I bought 4 bottles of Xclear nasal spray last summer after reading about how it acts as a cleanser for the nasal canal and this spray they are trying to suppress because it supposedly knocks down the corona virus effects to HALF of its strength if you do get it. So my advice is STOCK up -I got my supply on Ebay or Amazon...
I have been using saline solution or Xlear sinus rinse for years and saline eye wash because of low humidity dry conditions.
Flushing out the nasal airway and sinuses with simple salt water - especially if you have allergies or chronic congestion, or almost any sort of breathing problem - is one of the single most effective means to ensure health and protection from disease.
In yoga there are a couple of other things to keep in mind: Take measures to keep from having to breathe through your mouth; the mouth is for food, the nose is for air. The nose has special filters and traps for things that may compromise breathing.
Practicing pranayama (yoga breathing exercise) is very helpful for keeping the airway clear. It boosts circulation and mental activity - it helps calm the mind, too.
Many people don’t breathe effectively. I used to get sick a lot as a kid; allergies played a big role in that, I think, as well as the fact that my (big) nose has a kink in it. If I practice pranayama for a couple of minutes when my nose is stuffy it works better than Sudafed.
Anyway, thanks for posting that! It’s great advice.
IMHO when you gargle with salt water to treat the sore throat seen in omicron infections, you kill many viruses and disrupt their membranes. By doing so the viral debris that remains is then processed by the immune system. It hastens recovery and may enhance immunity to the more virulent variants known and coming. This is just IMHO.
diluted colloidal silver...
Lol! Therapeutic Armamentarium?? Is that anything like stuff that we could do for ourselves?
Who writes this stuff?
Many doctors don't believe that it works (it's just salt water!), but it does. It decreases the viral load in the nose and washes out the secretions and dead cells. If you can keep from getting very sick even for just a week, that gives your immune system an extra week to get up-to-speed.
Been using an electronic nasal irrigator on occasion for years. Used it often when I got the rona. Way better than netti pots or spraying chemicals up the nose.
I used the iodine solution in a netti pot...8oz of distilled water and 2 teaspoons povidone mixed together. Did washout for 30-40 seconds then gargled what remained for 30 sec.
I did that 5 times the day i started feeling sick and the next day i was better. No more sore throat, fever broke that night. I continued that regimen for 3 days and felt fine with no further symptoms except for that first day. Only additional thing i did was peroxide in the ears 2x a day for 3 days.
I use hypertonic saline nasal spray. It sucks the moisture right out of swollen tissues and it seems logical that it would suck viruses out as well.
I’ve been using a Navage for several years. Used a Neti pot for many years prior to buying the Navage.
Neti pot costs a lot less to use and doesn’t require any proprietary supplies, but the Navage does a much better job of cleaning out my snot locker.
The hubs had two strokes last summer, the second one being the worst. While visiting him in the ICU, the nurse started swabbing his nose and of course I asked what she was doing. She explained that she was applying a solution to the entrance of his nose. This solution they found helped prevent MRSA, that even those patients who recovered from the infection still carried it in their nose. This solution prevented reinfection. The product is called Nozin, she gave me the empty packet to look it up. It’s all natural, and going by the ingredients it’s like hand sanitizer for the nose. I did purchase some for him when he was discharged, never know what would come home with him. Don’t know if it would work on the flu, but didn’t hurt to try it. I personally use a Neti pot weekly. But if anyone is interested you can research Nozin.

A regular nasal cleansing would probably be effective in minimizing aerosol covid risk, despite the numerous variants that may arise.
Also, why is it that the FDA/CDC never issued any guidance on therapeutic measures or homeopathic remedies for treating covid (?)
but instead focused singularly on the mRNA vaccines owned and operated by Big Pharma, even though break throughs were being reported. Think about that one for a while ...

A simple salt water douche of the nasal passage works wonders at the first hint of illness. . It isn’t the most pleasant things to do In Hawaii, when the kids would get sick, the first thing done was to go to the beach and play in the water.
