So I find out today I've been cancelled by "neighborly" NextDoor.
This is absurd - and perhaps I was "reported" (snitched) by the last jerk I replied to last week. He was telling everyone how there aren't many of us (around here - indeed) and we're just posting alot (not true) and WE SHOULD REPORT THEM AND GET THEM BANNED. I gave him a piece of my mind in public.
That goes for ND - and FB, and YT also.
The thing is everything is political.
Someone complains about timber trucks, which turns into revelation that yet more houses are being “developed”, which ticks off everyone who lives in developments that destroyed what I grew up in.
Then of course mask mandates.
And vax. And the fact testing sites are overloaded.
Everyone at some point is going to bring up something that is basically political.
So it’s impossible to unsee. Perhaps possible to not reply…but not possible for it to be invisible.

Yep. I agree. And why I shared it. Maybe the light will go on for others who have had similar experiences.

Friend of mine worked for him. He is indeed a total scumbag and hypocrite.
I helped to hang my neighbors (who were innocent of any crime) for that it were peril to my own life to show lack of zeal in the master’s cause. The others helped for none other reason. For in that lies safety.

Good point. On ND were basically stuck with our real names. It’s a requirement. (Slight alterations can be made but not much.)
We really stick out our necks on ND, and they’re exposed to people who are actually in the vicinity and can easily find us (including thru ND itself). Not like the remote and anonymous stuff as on this forum.
Yes, fake name AND if you get NextDoor to send you the little postcard to verify yourself (figure that out on their site) AND you receive the USPS Informed Delivery pictures of each day’s mail:

And alter your address when you sign up with NextDoor by adding an apt # or a letter after the main street address. Such as:
1234 E. Pine St “Apt G” (or just “G”, or “B”, or “#7”)

The post office will send you a pic of each day’s mail and you will see the code on the face of the little postcard when it gets to your local PO.
The PO usually won’t deliver the actual little postcard because the name isn’t right for your address, BUT you don’t need the little postcard, just the pic of the little postcard in the email the PO sends to you showing what mail is coming that day.
I have made about 15 false name NextDoor accounts like that over the past 6-7 years. I currently have 3 active ones.
Cheap entertainment and it’s fun to troll the serious little wokesters on NextDoor.
I get banned or suspended after a while then I just use another already created NextDoor account or start the whole process again.
If only I used my powers for good....

I was trolled by LEO in the aftermath of the 2000 election (Nov-Dec of 2000) for my “intemperate” comments, I guess.
They were urging me to get guns and ammo and join them up in the mountains of AZ.
When I begged off saying I was just an old guy and I would leave revolution to the youngsters they stopped, and the account disappeared.

and they make their presences known very clearly
I have never had them PM me, probably figure I would catch on right away. But I have shared these experiences here before and have had others PM me telling their own stories like you did here. They are afraid to share them on the public board because of the very backlash I get every time I do.
I remember back a few years ago, a neighbor of mine tried to get me to join it. I ended up getting a relentless barrage of “Join Us” spam email from them and decided right there they were trying too hard - and for what? To be ‘neighborly?’
I got those too and finally joined, but I don’t participate. ND is useful to scan for local vendors of everything, good and bad. For example, a bad or unreliable handyman or house painter who touts for business on ND and elsewhere in the area will sometimes get outed by disappointed and irate customers. Good to have such information for future reference.
